.45 ACP vs 9mm vs .38 Special

Glock 17 for me but my new 9 is the Ruger LCPs. I love this pocket pistol.

I have not had my Rhino very long, but what a pleasure to shoot! Only three boxes through it so far, one .357 and two .38 special.

I was considering selling it to consolidate calibers & put the money towards a CZ Scorpion Evo.

I rented the .357 Ruger LCR a few weeks ago, that I did not enjoy shooting at all.

Sorry for the poor quality was just home getting some things before heading back to my folks since my fathers ill.

Oh man I fired the small Rhino with full-house .357 loads and it was like having a grenade go off in my hand! The fireballs were spectacular.

When it comes to shooting serious defensive loads the 9mm delivers good performance but you certainly feel it in a small gun. I'm not sure how much easier to shoot they are than defensive 45 rounds. Hmm I guess I need to go to the range and test that!

In my opinion, any of your choices are excellent. I rotate EDC a Glock 30S, Glock 43, or 360PD, and I never feel compromised with any one of them. I'm a big guy, and I carry all of them (NOT AT THE SAME TIME) in my left front pocket; however, the Airweight Smith is the lightest and most comfortable to carry. The recoil is snappy to me, and some may consider it punishing, but I shoot it well and five rounds of .357 or +P .38's can solve a lot of problems.

Relaxation is the key for me too. I am mostly a weekend piper, but often carry one with me if the mood arrises.

There is nothing better for me than being in the shop on a dark drizzly day enjoying my pipe!

Kind of a shocker that so many glocks are in use considering our love for expensive and quality blades. Ah well. Today I'm rocking the compact 92 (9mm)with all the bells and whistles.

Uh Oh......Somebody, other than myself, is not a Glock fanboy.
It would be interesting to compare folks knife interests vs their firearm interests. Might be interesting results . For instance, you might find that the majority of slipjoint knife fans are revolver shooters, and the 1911 crowd loves Kabar. Most JK knife owners prefer blue steel over stainless...things like that. These examples are not official and are just possible examples of the results of a survey that has yet to be performed
Inquiring minds want to know!

Don't knock the Glock! They are not pretty, they are not sleek or sexy, but they always work! The Beretta 92 is a nice gun, I've had two of them, one an Elite, but they just did not do anything for me. I've often said my favorite handgun is a full size 1911, but I've had two other favorites in the over (well over!) 100 handguns I've owned in the last 40 years. Those two were a blue 5" S&W Model 27, and a blue 2 1/2" S&W Model 19. I love revolvers, but they have gotten way too pricey!

Here is one currently offered on Gun Broker: 5" model 27, looks like a re-blue to me. asking buy it now $1300. current bids; zero at $900 start.

Even decent 6" model 28's sell for over $500 now! Yup Revolvers are pricy!
I can't bring myself to pop for the one I really would have back again (S&W Model 19 6" )

My first revolver was a 4" Model 28, bought it from George's old shop. Also had a 6" Model 19 with the red ramp front sight and white outline rear sight, which were options then.

I guess my knife intetests follow my gun interests in that I may favor one type but my colletion has a bit of everything ... I love my 1911s but I have some revolvers I still love to shoot and carry when Im riding back country or hiking / camping over my autos ... they are rugged and go bang whenever I need them to.
I also enjoy shooting my ARs but nothing feels better in my hands then a good lever action rifle.
All have their place and things they are better at then others ... as knives "proper tool for the job".
And if anyone asks why I need so many of either ...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
