Do you think fedex is the way to go? I have been getting some quotes to see how much it is going to cost. My zip is 43085 if you want to get an estimate.

For me at least; fedex is the way to go, only ~$68 for twenty of the bars shipped to me compared to the $200+ ups charges. Both of those were the lowest rates I could choose from. If the bars are exactly .25x1.75x48 they should weigh exactly 5.95 pounds each, so 6 pounds was a great estimate.

-EDIT- Total is at 30 now.

Seems like we have a whole lot of new knife makers on the forum lately. I just wanted to mention that I've been buying my 5160 from Dan Gray (on this forum). He gets really nice round bars from the John Deere Company. I don't know if the cost is better or not, but I like starting out with round bars, for whatever reason. Anyway, should the sticks play out, you might look up Dan and see what he has. I've pretty much switched over to 52100, but always enjoyed working with Dan's 5160 (and still forge it nowdays).

Take a look at postal priority shipping boxes, fille it up for a standard fee. Best deal we hare found.

I should have some of it home tomorrow. I will let ya all know. I will be bringing it home in a few different loads. Hopefully I can start shipping some out by the end of the week.

I will take four sticks. I have a good bit of 5160 already, but in a narrower width (plus all the rest of my 17 year old horde of salvage spring stock, which I think must be that 9260 or whatever Wayne G. talks about. It's harder to forge than commercial 5160 and HTs wonderfully well.) Oh, well, I guess I am saving up for the coming dark ages. :D

Yeah we could work that out. I am on the NE side near I270.

Ok the final number is 30. I would like to order 30 bars from you. This exceeds the weight limit so it would have to be sent in two packages. You might want to look into DHL for shipping, they have great rates and fast shipping.
