52100 Para2

I might have to buy the 52100 PM2, swap the OS scales from my first PM2 (well, the first one that I liked enough to keep, lol - it's actually my 3rd) onto that, put the CF on the S30V blade & sell it.
(I haven't carried the S30V in well over a year, possibly 2?; so it needs to go, anyway)

*edited to add
Looks like they've made some changes to this model; so a handle swap from an older version might not work well. Guess I'm out, on this one. Don't need anymore knives, anyway.

Interesting. BHQ still shows them 'pre-order'.

I am usually a KC guy, but I have bought from BHQ before. This one I got from BHQ since they had it up first. Curious as to who will start sending shipped notifications first. Let us know.

first off both great solid dealers. unless things have changed bladehq always was better at shipping preorders and not overselling in the past. knifecenter always seemed to struggle shipping quickly and over sell. course likely good reasons why...promises made and not kept to them from distributor, etc. who knows?

if kc has them in stock id sure hope a bunch of folks were getting shipping notices today?

They (KC) charged my account today so it will likely be on its way and in my hands in the next couple of days. Christmas came early this year. :) On their website it says in stock.

BHQ charged my account when the preorder went up so far as I know. I did not mind given that these PM2s are literally right around the corner. Additionally, unlike some other vendors, with BHQ, they only allow you to pre-order what they know they will be getting. You are not left to wonder IF you are high enough on the list. If you can order it, you WILL get it. And for those of us who might want one for ourselves and an extra for whatever reason, BHQ has not imposed any such limitation in this run.

Maybe someone does have them in stock. As of 15 minutes ago, BHQ does not though they will very soon. Considering their exceptional service and how they run things, my order with them is secure. :)

I just received a tracking number for my KC order. For some reason they shipped UPS SurePost to the Mountain West, normally it's USPS. It looks like I'm waiting a week to save a few bucks (tax).

I am going to have to check this out ...would love a 52100 ... but are the scales CF only? ... have to look now hoping for an option on the scale material ... dang I hope maybe they will offer it with G10 ... but I'll be real interested in how everyone likes these. Good on Spyderco for offering the 52100 ... I like it ...

Now in stock at BHQ. Bit of luck I will be the first down under to get one. It will bump the CF/M4 out of my pocket for a while.

I’ve somehow held off on this one from being PM2 #14. I really like the 52100 Military...maybe I’m becoming more practical :rolleyes: Getting the Maxamet version for sure and probably holding for intriguing sprint runs.

I've wanted a Para2 in 1095, as a sort of counterpoint to the other 9 whizz bang steel alloy Para2's in the drawer. 10 when Maxamet arrives.
This is about as close to that as I think we will get.

You may already know this, but being a sprint in an atypical steel, I would bet my next child that CF is all you will ever see with this one. Of course, that doesn't stop someone from getting something aftermarket.

Yeah, I know it's nost likely wishful thinking that there may be another build with something other than CF.

But after changing out scales on two being such a pain with the lanyard barrel I decided I wouldn't change another set.

When I have changed mine out, I just use something like a round scotchbrite disk in a drill press to lightly hit the outside corners of the tube. It removes a minimal amount of metal making reassembly a breeze without changing the look at all or causing too much metal removal such that the tube rattles. The tube is still tight in the scales (I use a vice to press it back in), but it is not nearly as hard to put in as a flared tube that has not hit the scotchbrite wheel.

isnt this one a particular distributors special run..not really a sprint? or am i way off and got it all wrong? thanks.

Well, patience goes out the window when it comes to new knives. BHQ still shows pre-order; KC in stock. Cancelled BHQ and placed with KC. Credit card charged, minus $50 for reward points; shipment created. Should have it by Saturday.

KC shipped mine already. GPK has it in stock now as well. Still waiting on BladeHQ - they're weird about canceling pre-orders so I don't want to cancel quite yet.
