#6375 Case Large Stockman

Gary nice job on the reprofile. Now I'm thinking of doing my 81. It's got a really nice spear look to it.

Thanks guys I'm liking this folder a great deal, sorry I hadn't gotten one before!

Wow Gary, excellent job on your mini-customization of that Stockman!

And as usual your photography is amazing. You could take pics of a cow-pie and it would be beautiful! lol

Arizonaranchman,

thanks for starting this thread with the many descriptive photos of your 6375. I too enjoy my 6375cv stockman but with the sawcut amber bone covers. Just love the size of this stockman, and surprisingly its fit and finish is about on par with my Tidioute Cuban stockman other than the softer backsprings.

Would love to see pics your it if you're able :D

Well, it'd have to be a pretty unusual cow-pie but maybe ;)

Thanks and I do like how the knife feels, I know it's no longer a true Stockman form now, but for me I like it better. The tip of the spey blade did not change, only the spine down to the tip was made into a more slim look, which freed up the area above it to allow the sheepsfoot to be able to drop down into the frame more, it just worked out well. I have a medium Stockman enroute that may get the same treatment, well know more once it arrives!

You guys need to stop posting pics of these beautiful knives! My lady is going to kill me if I but another knife this month...but then again, I could get it mailed to work...

Orange delrin? Is that a new one? I know i love their yellow delrin.

Yep, pretty new. This one was born on 10-08-14. And it is Polyoxymethylene. (aka: Delrin)

Arrived in the mail today. Wow...

Thanks Ranch Man from Arizona!

WOW is right, that orange just comes at you! VERY cool looking folder right there! Nice :)

Thanks Gary. I also waited far too long to get this pattern. Love your mods. I'm betting a gorgeous sheath is next!

This knife is a beautiful beast. I couldn't believe how easily it knocked down cardboard boxes this morning - only my fixed blades have made it that easy. I find it no problem for front pocket carry, barely notice it at all. I went with the Stainless as this one will be near the water and used on food. Plus the new orange Delrin doesn't come in CV. (And I really wanted this "High Visibility Orange"). Model #4375.

And, once again the Case Knife Fairy picked a perfect specimen out just for me...no blade rub either.

Yes a very cool looking knife!

Here is the sheath I made for mine, fits nicely, the curves both sides formed tightly for good retention;

Worn vertical on the belt.

Nice work as usual! Your sheaths are truly functional works of art Gary.

Here is a photo for arizonaranchman - who, incidentally, got me hooked on the Ol'Yeller Peanut as well:

Thanks again my brother!

I'm digging the Orange stockman. SS or CV blades?

Gary, while I like the spey just fine, that pen turned out very nice. I might want one like that. Nice leatherwork too!

Thanks man, and the modified spey blade, carefully ground down the spine to the tip, the tip did not move from the original location, so just a more pleasing flow...for me at least...down from the spine to the point. Once that was done, then I had room to now lower the sheepsfoot blade into the handle by grinding down the kick on the sheepsfoot, very comfortable handling knife now.

As someone asked, the back spring on the sheepsfoot does drop in slightly, but it is more than a good trade off for how it sets now.

That's just like mine. I also got a flawless example. I really like Case's large stockman pattern...due to the blades' width, they seem to be ground to thinner edges than the ones on my Case medium stockmen, especially the clip blades. This knife cuts exceptionally well; I'll say it's the best-cutting, non-SAK traditional knife I own. And the orange does really stand out.

I think you might be on to something about the hollow grind on these larger blades. Sweet spot is the word. And the SS blades are holding very well - I've only knocked the factory burr off (came very sharp) and have yet to sharpen after lots of garden work and cardboard boxes. I love doing garden work and not worrying about drying it off and oiling it up. CV Hawkbill is taking a little vacation!

Thoughts after 5 days:

I'm surprised it doesn't have half stops. No need, just assumed it had them - and I would prefer it that way.

Blades don't touch when sitting there, but when opening I can't help but push the Spey or Clip into the Sheepfoot. (Well, I could, but that ain't the way I open a knife!)

Like the ranchman, I like the 'Foot and the Clip. Haven't tried the Spey, but when I need to butter my toast I will.

Orange Delrin rocks. Easy to see, and it takes on that same "soft" feel that our old friend Yella does.

I don't really feel it in my left front jeans pocket - but it does have a big print - which will cause it to be left behind on occasion.

Still in the honeymoon phase, but I don't see myself losing interest anytime soon.

Those Large Stockmen are great users. :)

I got one from our fellow forum member Ed (ModocEd) several years ago. I know what I gonna carry the next few days :D

Stockman time here in Bavaria!

That's a beauty Snippy! The large Stockman is a beefy and sturdy one for sure. The blades are thick and strong. The sheepfoot is what I use for cutting down boxes and it does it with ease

I've had mine for over a year now and it's my go-to working knife alongside my yellow Sodbuster.
