711 vs bk9

Lawlz!!!! :D

But yeah, the 711 is good looking. I prefer the drop point, and the bk2 is the biggest drop point that BKT makes. One reason why I am leaning towards the junglas over the bk9. If you like the 711 and it's a limited run, then get that. If you want to get a knife and some custom pants and like the 9, then get that. They both look fun. :D

I don't think anyone was bad mouthing scrapyard. Maybe some don't care for them for their own reasons. The fact is I ordered a 711, and before it even came I traded for a 511. So where is the rag in that? A lot of people ask questions here not just about beckers because this is where they hang out and these are the people they fell comfortable with. I think the OP's intention was to get the opinion of people he has an established report with, not open a thread where the masses could slam another company or design.

Come on man, you should act here the same way you would act in the Yard, it's not cool, and it gives us a bad name, please just calm it down
I am calm, this is all in fun. I know it's hard to tell tone from posts but no venom intended. Just a spirited debate from dedicated fanboys. But I do like getting a rise out of Beckerheads:D

Find me a thread where this happened to the 711. "a dull knife is better than a broken one"

I submit that you haven't seen it happen to a Scrapyard knife because no one is using their Scrapyard knives in such a manner. Perhaps if guys were out there actually using them rather than coddling them and taking artful pictures we'd start seeing where their breaking point is

I've seen pics of someone hammering a Regulator into a car door hinge. I'm just saying not everyone is babying their SYKCO knives.

Perhaps someone should lock this thread before it gets nasty.

Yes, because I like to get nasty with my SOD;)

Yes it is in the Becker forum...and that was curious that the question was posted in the Becker forum...to ask which to buy...a Scrapyard or a Becker...humm curious. It couldn't be just to rag on the scrapyard, could it? When you bring up my company's name it then becomes my business and my house. This is now my house.

you own Scrapyard?

I think they're gonna give us more rope to play hangman with. Really, like I said I'm a BK&T guy, but I don't harbor any animosity towards the other guys. Who are they again?:D I think we all get along well, so it should be fine.

BUY BECKER!

Okay man, I'm a Scrap Yard guy and I enjoy coming over here and lurking. Y'all have a great community. I don't want someone from my side of the fence ruining it for those of us that can appreciate a great knife, no matter who made it. I wouldn't want to feel unwelcome here because of a ten percenter.

Yeah, my post was really just joking around.

Not really sure what the back-and-forth is about. I don't have anything bad to say about Junkyard knives anyways....

:D

Are we all friends again!? That sure was quick, who wants to give maddogg directions to the becker gathering ;) He can bring the superior knives ;)

Oh there are plenty of them at the gathering already. Just ask Biscuit or Derek, wait nevermind:D....just Biscuit.

The pics were staged, obviously. The damage was done with a BK2 and then the Regulator was put in the hole. It's all merely an illusion.

Is that the 711? If so, I'd think the OP would be better off comparing it to the BK7 (think someone else already mentioned that). That would give you a much more apples to apples comparison, I'd think.

Cool pics, btw!

No I don't own Scrapyard, just most of my paycheck goes there." Junkyard knives" lol love that! I might change my handle to that:) ps I like the pic where the Scrapyard is "mounting" the Becker;)

The only bad thing I have ever heard about Busse/Scrapyard/Swamprat knives is that they dont always have the best edge geometry. I have heard that they are tough as hell, and well built and designed, and that the steel is great stuff.
My only issue with the Bussekin stuff is that not all knives need to be .25 or .32 thick ..lol I know I know not all of theirs are either just being a smart ass.
Its been discussed before Busse or Becker, for me its Becker in almost every instance because of the cost to value ratio. For what I need, its just damn hard to beat a Becker knife at a Becker Price.
Pluss the community is amazing.
