711 vs bk9

Ive got a like new 511 Ill put up. Just use a similar sized blade. Email me if you want it.

Eric

much as I would love an opportunity to spend some quality time playing with a 511, I doubt anything I would be willing to do with/to a knife would demonstrate any significant superiority between it and any of my other knives in the 4.5-6" size range. If it weren't for the choil, I'd already own one. :) (that said, my B4LE showed up today)

I cried for hours....:p:D

sweet :) send it to me for destruction testing

Hehe, I'll bring it to the spring meeting ( if I end up going, which is looking good) you can beat the bejeezus out of it

Dear Ethan, I made my point...the Scrapyard is superior to the BK9...that was the question, wasn't it. I sorry if i upset your delicate sensibilities with my good natured ribbing of a Rival company. ;)

i don't recall you offering any actual data?

good natured is fine.

we don't feed trolls here.

sassing the owner or a mod is a DIRE offense on this board. just saying...

imho, you're just having a little fun. we like that. however, you're going to have to PROVE your point. *I* don't think you have.

nothing wrong with Scrapyard, but the bang for the buck imho is a bit high.

come to the Fall, and i'll take you up on that, and offer you quatloos ;)

(i collect khukris)

I have a massive box of popcorn from cosco for those who need some. There is enough for every Beckerhead :D

oh pick me!! wait.... I'm watching my carbs. never mind. Thanks for the offer sir! Perhaps virtual internet popcorn isn't as bad for me.

here's some proof that a pastrami & swiss sandwich is better than the scrapyard 711:
I think most here will agree that SR101 with the Busse heat treat is a better performer than many production blades.
similarly, INFI is a better performing medium than SR101 -- and there are those that will argue nothing is better than INFI.

Since a well made pastrami & swiss sandwich is better than nothing, we can logically conclude that it is by default better than the Scrapyard 711 made of SR101.
and now I'm hungry and the deli doesn't open for 11 hours. :(
($6.89 for a foot long pastrami sandwich dressed out to your specs with pastrami sliced about 5/32" thick and piled high. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!)

that's a lot of food.

these days, i eat so little, it's ridiculous :) yet, still alive.

clearly, my way is best.

No sass here, I am truly sorry if Ethan got upset. Not trolling, I answered the question and the "data" that has been posted many times on this(as i posted)and other forums usually is summarily dismissed by Becker fanboys. But I do respect you if you are loyal to the brand. Just know I will always hold mine as superior ...well...because they are.

still not seeing data... i'm not going to google and do the work.

if need be, i will clean this thread out.

if really need be, a super will clean clocks :)

How about pics, and numbers and well anything other "than mine is better"

this.

i mean, you came into the Man's house, told him yours is better. you kinda have to throw down now :)

cut a lawn mower in half with your knife. that's a good start :)

send it to us. we'll test it in a pass around.

I don't guess knifetests.com is enough, or the link of the thread in this sub-forum that i previously posted or the lack of pics, reports or posts about a Scrapyard failing. Maybe that Sr101 is a high grade shock steel higher tensile strength, greater density and more uniform carbide distribution than 1095crovan. Sooo humm...I guess it only because I like it better.

So are you saying the Becker is superior to the Scrapyard regardless of price?
