#78 American Jack

Despite the best efforts of the USPS to keep them from me I finally received my Maher&Grosh Yankee Whittlers today. All I can say is boy was it worth the wait!
Absolutely stunning knives with a very high quality feel to them and great construction from GEC, the pulls seem to reverse a trend to lighter pulls and are very crisp 6 to 7 with half stops.
Just gonna post pictures and see if I can answer any questions anyone has, the knife in a couple shots for comparison is a 77.

Very Nice! Are these the only 78s that you have. I say "only" not as in you should have more. Ha ha. I ask because I was wondering your opinion on this yankee compared to the other 2 blade 78s that are out so far.

I am somewhat curious of the Smooth White Bone covers, hopefully those of you who selected that material will be getting them in hand soon. To those of you with some experience with that cover, do you find that the bone changes with time and use, in regards to the color?

Because I knew I wanted the M&G's I have not picked up any of the other 78's yet, I will be getting one of the Northfield's when they are ready.

Wish I knew what the Northfield bone covers were going to be. Any educated guesses?

My white bone covers have shipped. Should be here soon. Guess I will find out.

My smooth white bone took a few days to ship. The expected delivery date is not till Friday, for some reason. I guess USPS is backed up.

Anyway, the smooth white bone (or smooth ivory bone) covers I've had have definitely developed character. Darkening in some areas, not in others. I think it looks great. It's definitely one of, if not my favorite cover material.

Yeah, USPS has been pretty regularly missing delivery dates for me. I guess that’s to be expected during the holiday season. Looking forward to seeing some more of these land!

Oh man the KSF Blue Camel Bone covers look even better than the Ironwood. Anyone with news on when these single blades will make it to dealers?

DI's are up...lots of beauties:)

Those Desert Ironwood 78s really do look terrific, they are undermining my resolve to just stick with the 2 that I already have selected...

The Knife Connection Ironwood looks amazing! They were flying out the door, but I managed to snag a nice one. Looks like there were only 82 to start with just 33 left! I really appreciate the individual photos. There are lots of nice ones. The Ironwood is so interesting that almost all of them are very nice in their own way. Don't wait much longer though!

I noticed they were going quick. It is a real struggle right now...

That Ironwood is gorgeous and it pairs so exceptionally well with that shield.
