#78 American Jack

Yes Dylan, now they are down to about 20. Still a few nice ones left. I wonder if the Cocobolo will be as interesting? I am anxious to see actual photos of both wood types as forum members receive their knives. I actually prefer the richer color of the cocobolo, but the crazy grain patterns on the Ironwood made me pull the trigger.

The Cocobolo looks Great on GEC's website. Only problem is, if I remember correctly, you can't pick which one you want on Collector knives website.
I just purchased 2 Ironwoods, one for me and one for my Nephew for Christmas.

I asked Santa for the black canvas micarta.. I think I saw Santa on the computer ordering one for me today. My first Micarta... generally not a fan of synthetics but it looks very cool with the spear shield and brushed bolsters. It will fit in well with what I carry because I don't have anything else in micarta.

Tom K,

Those Cocobolos should sold by a lot of dealers. Hopefully someone will post actual pictures. It is so often frustrating to order a knife with a handle material that varies a lot without seeing it first. I usually end up with a lackluster specimen. I think we made the right decision to go with the Ironwoods, ( only 15 left the last time I looked. ) Having said that I will probably take a chance in a Cocobolo anyway!

And cbr1000, congrats on the Micarta. I agree with you 100%, that combination of the Black Micarta with the Spear Shield looks incredible. I believe that is one of the best looking examples I have ever seen.

that is a beaut! im glad I snagged one when I saw the email leaving the gym. turns out I didnt have to rush as there were still 15 in stock by the evening :D:D:D

I would have liked one of the Ironwoods but couldn't deviate from my allotment. I will be seeking one out on the Exchange as there will undoubtedly be some before too long. Otherwise, I have a Cocobolo on the way and an Ebony reserved for when they become available.

The Nothfield jigged bone looks nice.

The M&Gs turned out terrific!! I like the good snap, and the markings on all the blades. For a three blade, these knives are not a big and blocky as they could be!
Old M&Gs had lavish Etches - done in house, and these knives remember and celebrate those good old times! Nice job, Ken and Roger!!! And GEC!!

P.S. sorry my scanner does not pick up the etches well. Maybe someone will post a better picture of them. I love the Cocabola on these - it shows its Rosewood kinship!!

Great captures, Charlie. Those M&Gs caught my interest with their production pictures and it is really nice to hear your assessment of them.

Seems the American Jack looks good dressed in just about anything, black micarta, cocobolo, smooth white bone... they're all lookin good. Happy to say, "This one is mine."

Fantastic catch, redsparrow redsparrow ! You got a real looker. The Ironwood, paired with that shield, makes for an exceptionally beautiful knife. I can't wait to hear your thoughts when you get it in hand.

Charlie, have to agree with everything you said about the Maher&Grosh, agree they don't feel big and blocky at all. Love how they feel. I wonder what OVC stands for on the back of the clip blade, I know OVB on a HSB stands for Our Very Best.

Here is the etch picture I posted earlier.

I was going to wait on the Black micarta, so glad I bit the bullet when I did. I like everything about it, the shield, the matte bolsters, the matte black micarta the satin no etch blade, the brass pins and liners, can't wait. Did some searching on this pattern and it would of been nice to get a clip point blade option like the '14 run but I am not complaining.
