Thanks all, on the EO mod. It's not for everyone but I started putting EO' s on a few of my traditionals after I had crushed my thumb nail a few yrs back. It works for me so that was all the inspiration I needed

Great job Paul ! I don’t have any problem with pinching my 78 open. But now I know It would look great with an EZ open mod.

I can pinch mine open with ease as well but that ez open looks great.

EO Mod I did on 78 Ironwood. Starting doing these a few months ago because it seems the older I get the more brittle my nails get!

These 78s look great with the EO mod! With a penchant for pinchable blades I may try this myself if mine doesn't become a tube queen. Are you guys doing this with a drum sanding bit?

I bought a bench top spindle sander just for this purpose. Works great, just makes me really nervous every time!

Well my Cocobolo made it out of the tube .
Even though I planned on making it a tube/safe queen I couldn’t resist this beauty .
So a wipe down of the factory oil and will be in my pocket to enjoy
It was hard to do Because it really is such a perfect example in all areas .
Also a big thanks to mike at CK knives for sending me this beauty . I like my smooth white bone I Received from another dealer a lot but this Cocobolo edges it out in all areas ! If I had the chance to hand pick one out from a handful this would be the one .My white bone is no slouch but man this Cocobolo has it going on

Does anyone else find that some versions are more pinchable than others? I can easily pinch open my white bone one, but not the black micarta one. Can't say I've minded putting the white bone one to use first.

I find that the amount of patina affects how easy it pinches open. More patina adds more friction.

Those cocobolos are looking nice, I hope mine looks as good as the examples on here.
I just wish I wasn't aware of the hotdog shield; I thought it looked fine, but now that I've heard it called that I can't un-see it
