Whats the light you have in the pic?

Surefire E2D LED Defender.

Its a great light! My most liked surefire yet. Two modes, 200 and I think 15 lumens. Plus its really small and super light yet brighter than my cars highbeams! :-)

Im gonna do my 5 or 6 today. Let me know which you guys would rather see. Im gonna start the project around 4-5pm central time, so which ever one has more requests by that time is the one I will do. So help me decide!!!! :-)

I would do a vid on that but i dont know how to put multiple vids together as that would be a 4-5 hour vid. Ill take pics and explain the process though. The cord wrap vid will be much easier as it will be 15min max. I got to see if my gf can stand the bordom for 15min to record while wrapping.

So far its the 6! Keep em comin guys, personally I was gonna do the 5 cuz its more beat up since I prefer using it over the 6, but im leaving it up to you guys to decide for me. I got to go to the grocery store in a few to get more red grapefruits.

Is there ever a problem with rust on a forced patina blade? I want to try this but if it will jeopardize the "rust prevention" characteristics of the initial coating, I don't think I will. Also, how durable is this patina? Will it get roughed up with use or is it fairly durable?

The coating is more protective for the blade, but a patina does an adequete job especially wgen oiled occasionally, or ren wax used. Ive been using the ren wax on some and oil on others and the renwax protects for longer. The patina will wear off with hard use but can easily be re applied, or if bored with the patern you can just change it up. Or just use it and let the patina change itself with use over time.

My vote is for the five! Yes please take pics as you do it looking for how it is all set up with the grapefruit and knife in between. Cool project to do during the Superbowl....

Damn man, those patinas look AMAZING. I've been looking for ways that I want to patina my blade with, and your method has won my heart. thank you

Holy shiite! That is AWESOME!

THAT is what i'm gonna do to my H•E•S•T, too. That MAKES the knife.

That is just friggin' awesome!

6 is in the process now! I will do a picture tutorial while doing it, so tomorrow I will start a new thread of the how to grapefruit patina staring the esee6. I hope it turns out good.
