My Labor day 940-1501 should be here tomorrow. Can't wait to try it out. I already have the standard 940 but love the black blue G10 and 20CV.

I received my 940-1501. It is a great small-to-mid sized folder. Action is smooth, blade is well centered and sharp, and there is no blade play. I do have one thing that I want to check with the owners of BM 940, which is the the edge bevel. It appears to me the edge bevel is very asymmetric and much wider than I expected - definitely wider than that of 710 and 810 that I have. Please see the pics below and let me know whether it is normal.

It will be wider, as Benchmade is trying to sharpen these at 15° per side instead of their usual 20-25° per side. That said, your bevels do seem to be a little uneven. They are still hand sharpened, so they won't be perfectly symmetrical.

Mine arrived today too. It does indeed feel better in hand than the standard 940.

When received mine, I had to send it back because it was ground too aggressively. The 940 is not meant to be a recurve blade. The replacement is spot on.
