940-2 opinions??

I welcome a more subtle approach; the KW black and blue didn't do it. If this is true, and not a limited, it will be very popular model. Green spacers are a nice touch!
Fortunately, black RIT dye can take care of that. Now I wish I had gotten some extra titanium standoffs when I did that group buy last year...

I'm somewhat torn between the two. I really dig the green spacers, but I really want the -20CV on the KW exclusive. It may boil down to how much I can sell my slightly customized ZT0808 for.

Very nice but I'm also a big fan of the 940 series. What's not to like: S30V, contoured G-10, green anodized spacers and $170.

Very nice 940!

I'm actually not a fan of this new scale design, I'd prefer the old style better.

Why change an already perfect knife? I wonder what Warren would of thought about this new update..

Yeah I have to agree. Love the black g10 just wish they would have kept the same scale design. It was perfect in my opinion. Can't pass up my -1501 for this one.

I think it may perhaps be a practical change with more surface area of the handle in contact with your palm. We shall see. For looks, I too prefer the old style.

Let's hope they use screws that don't protrude through the liners like they did on the -1 and -1501. That and the price kept me from both of those models.

Why change an already great scale design? I prefer the look of the 940-1, this looks strange.

I'm not seeing anything drastic. What's the big change? I see traction grooves on the butt end of the back of the handle.

G-10 vs. aluminum, standoffs vs. backspacer and jimping at the bottom of the handle vs. no jimping. That's a given but if you look closely the handle is milled differently and many prefer the aesthetics of the 940. You'll see 940 and 940-2 below.

What do you not like jkarp?
I don't care for the change in thickness on the pivot end of the G-10 scales. It's great that we will have factory G-10 scales on a production 94x knife, but why move away from the original design? Unless there are legal problems with offering the knife with modified scales?? Just thinking here...Joe

I'm liking this one. I have never understood all the love for the 940. To me it was too slippery and felt a bit too light (I like at least a little bit of heft to my knives, otherwise they just feel a bit cheap). Also never cared for the green and purple combo. I would be much more apt to give this one a try.

I gotcha. Seeing them side by side definately helps to realize the differences. I like the G10 enough that I would still roll with it.

Here are 940 and 940-2 side by side horizontally instead of vertically.
