Pre-ordered!!! Benchmade, if you are reading this, show the 943 some love! I really need a 943-2 for my collection!
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
Let's hope they use screws that don't protrude through the liners like they did on the -1 and -1501. That and the price kept me from both of those models.
I'm liking this one. I have never understood all the love for the 940. To me it was too slippery and felt a bit too light (I like at least a little bit of heft to my knives, otherwise they just feel a bit cheap). Also never cared for the green and purple combo. I would be much more apt to give this one a try.
Can you elaborate on this? I'm not sure what you mean.
Nobody has a 940-2 yet?
I'll be getting one next month. Got hit with too many others this month.
I got mine on Monday and it hasn't left my pocket since. Benchmade's execution was flawless on this one. Pictures...I know, I know..I'll try and post some up this evening.
The scale screws would go slightly past the inside of the scale and could only be seen if peered inside.
Then you may not like this one as it is lighter than the aluminum model.![]()
Oh. That's no big deal. The aluminum 940's have this as well you just can't see it unless you look through the top since it doesn't have flow through construction. I'd rather have them sticking through a tiny big so I know all of the threads are being used. No need to use a short screw and chance stripping the liner.
I wonder if they could start a customizing process that let you pick between some custom backspacers? Orange, blue, red, titanium, green, yellow would be nice. Just thinking out loud.
The one thing I never cared too much about when it came to the 940 is how thin the blade and handle are from spine to edge. I know, I have tried two contegos and sold them both, I also have a Rift, but I would love to see a knife identical to the 940 just a wider blade and handle....
When will second production begin on these? I want one but the "First Production" writing on the blade looks terrible IMO.
