That is really nice Alan !!! I like those little pepper spots that sometimes show up in smooth white bone . They add character .

Totally agree Harry. It is so much better than the photo on the dealer's site. I was okay with that photo, but this is really special bone coloring. I imagine it might darken a little bit.

Really nice Harry, still waiting to hear on mine.

Thank you very much Alan . I was only able to find them on 2 sites and that really surprised me. Can you say who you ordered it from ???
I know that you will put up pictures when it comes in ????

Harry

Thanks for the kind words on the Heartland guys. As disappointed as I was with the change in bone, it sure did come out looking great!

As Rob said, "It's definitely growing on me." :)

Thank you my friend . Not all SFO's get buttons . I have no idea when they first started the Yellow Rose on the first pattern or when they started giving buttons with them . Probably before I started looking at Blade Forums. This is my first Yellow Rose .

Harry

Harry: Yep, I learned about the buttons with my first batch of GEC's. Some had them, some didn't. There didn't seem to be any order to it. And, I really don't care, I was just making a dumb joke my friend.

Congrats on a really interesting and unusual piece Harry.

I was going to ask you the same question. No real reason to name names. If it's available, I'll get it, if not, then not. Blaming the dealers for late delivery or insufficient inventory is like blaming your waiter when the chef overcooks your steak.

It did come out great. I don't think there was ever an indication of the color on the site I reserved, so I bailed on it. Wish I had known.

Thanks TheFactor < respect Username:) It's hard in a photo, but it almost has a salt and pepper look. More salt than pepper of course!

Updated today on GEC's home page. The #74 Stallion is up next. I'm guessing the Northfield jigged bone.

Just received the Yellow Rose 74 with button and not real solid yellow , but that is OK by me .Like it a lot URL=http://s296.photobucket.com/user/oldengineer1/media/DSC05759_zpsudeuvutt.jpg.html]

Beauty Harry! Photos are fine!

Should be the Northfield. Will be interesting to see what cover color, jigging style, bolster, and shield they have. Hopefully they update us tomorrow.

You guys and gals are sure getting the juices flowing lol . My cocobolo Stallion should be here tomorrow if all goes well and after finding this thread it's making the wait much harder !

Here's that new addition I was waiting on!

Love the color of that bone!! I hope GEC does it again on other patterns.

This is one of those runs that I actually like the Tidioute more than the Northfields. The Green w/ the Tidioute shield is near perfect imo. The ebony an extremely close second. If the ebony had the Tidioute shield I would be on the couch for buying one. :D

Beautiful knives all around folks.

Nice looking Yellow Rose, Harry! I've got one on the way.

Really happy with DLT's SFO and the 74 pattern in general. One of my favorites!

Thank very much Al !!! Your collection of Yellow Roses is what convinced me a long time ago to get one sooner or later.
Thank you for being an enabler .
As usual , your collection of last years run is looking great !
Take care my friend .

Harry

Al, nice pair of Mustangs to add to those outstanding stainless 74s.:thumbup:
Randy, those ebony are tough to photograph but I know it's the best ebony available. I'm glad you have one!!!

I like this one because of it's front to back symmetry of color. In hand it looks like color under glass. Very happy with this one!!!

Those two greens sure do look good together AlwaysTomboy!!! <snip for focus> Thanks for showing those gorgeous greens.:thumbup:

Those two greens together look flippin cool!! Apologies for reverting to my teenage self there :D

Impressive AlwaysTomBoy. That color match is really very good.
Thanks for the replies. I think I'm rapidly becoming addicted to green bone (but that's a topic for another thread). :D

& Dispatch, "reverting to your teenage self" made me chuckle. I pretty much post the way I talk and I tend to talk like I'm a teen even though I haven't been in a long time. Apparently, I also say 'y'all' even though I'm not from the south. :p

I agree that I love the pinchableness (yep, that's a word) :) of the 74 clip. Maybe it's because I'm fairly new to Traditionals and I need to start a fingernail workout regimen, but I can't stand struggling to open a knife. I sold a Northwoods Madison Barlow because of that. I just didn't enjoy the knife.
I'm with you on both counts. I don't mind a nail nick for opening as long as the opening is relatively easy. I'm used to Swiss Army Knives which seem to have a much lighter pull than a lot of other traditionals. I know strong springs are good and it'll get easier as they get broken in, but oof.

There's something about ebony and silver that's timeless; it's simple and classy and elegant. Lovely knife. Yours and the other ebony stallions. I don't want any horsies to feel left out. :p
