*too bad about the folks getting banned, but i guess sometimes cooler heads dont prevail. i would venture to say most probably regret getting involved at all, too bad for them and for us,. all of them coulda handled the situation in a better way.

*shame the guy who bought the knife didnt contact strider about replacement/etc before posting, have seen that happen before though, folks usually just point them in the right direction to get it fixed. he coulda handled the situation better though.

*if ya are in business ya have to expect some negative comments, they will come, folks are diff and irregardless of your product for 1 reason/another some folks are not gonna like it, and ya are gonna hear negative comments, thats life. i have never in my life seen anything that everybody will agree is great, always are gonna be detractors. heck not even everyone likes beer and sex, so i would say to get 100,000 folks to like 1 certain brand or style of knife is not gonna happen. ya simply have to have thicker skin than that.

*imho the mods have done fine controlling the thread, certainly no reason to criticise them, i think they have shown a lot of restraint even with the bans.

imho just too bad the whole situatiion wasnt handled in a better way, just too darned bad, we are after all taking about knives, which in the big picture are pretty inconsequential.

I saw the pic and it had nothing to do with the subject matter of this thread. In fact, depending on one's perspective, it could be interpreted as a ribbing or as a slam against the person in the pic.

I suspect that it was interpreted as the latter. That's the way I saw it.

As mentioned previously, it's rare that the Mod's here edit posts. When they are, it's done for a dayum good reason.

Again, the pic had nothing to do with the topic at hand and contributed absolutely nothing.

To be specific, it was a well-known picture of the owner with a word balloon added, putting words in his mouth. I edited the url slightly to turn it into a red X. We don't believe in censorship here; all the text messages posted by trolls are left intact for everyone to see, but if we started allowing pictures that would get out of hand. The photoshopped picture is still there on the troll's own website (I presume) and I wouldn't be surprised if he reposts it on another forum, but at least we don't have to keep looking at it here.

Things are worth what the market will bear, however if Strider would put the effort he uses in defending and insulting people into QC, we wouldnt see these posts. If he is too busy on Dork Ops in SE Azia then hire a retired engineer, this way at least they could see the misses and throw them in the garbage where they belong.

The first Strider I ever saw was a bro knife, my Ranger buddy had it. I said where did you get that and he said he got it for free. Because of the double stamp THE KNIFE WAS NOT GOOD ENOGH FOR SALE, so Mick gave it to him. As an enlisted soilder my friend and I would have been hard pressed to afford the knife at that time. So to get one for free becuase of a miss stamp is great luck.

Now if you bought a new knife to put in your safe then yes it had better be perfect.

The reading continues to see what actually happens to the knife.
