Spark is right. Many Regular Army SF are Ranger tabbed because they were Rangers before SF. There are two NG SF Groups (19th HQ'd in Utah, 20th HQ'd in Alabama). Many of these SF troopers do not have a Ranger Tab because their program for SF schooling and civilian job requirements won't allow them to be gone that long. ...but they've spent quite a few months on active duty in very dusty places!

Now that is a whole nother can of worms there, I wouldn’t say greater than I would say they have a very different and equally important job. Their types missions are usually so different there is no apples to apples comparison.
 
Also true. The Ranger's are essentially the US Army's shock troops. A lot of SF guys come from the Ranger Batts. However, in my personal opinion the reason SF is considered > than Ranger is because when you go SF, your primary MOS changes. Being a (tabbed) Ranger is a skills qualifier. That and the SF tab goes above the Ranger tab :D

Both groups are "special", getting in one is just harder than the other.

Not trying to be a smartass on this but I would be real interested in see how many complete the selection for each outfit.

You would hope that anyone going out for SFAS would be ready for it but a lot don’t make it even though by then they should be a somewhat mature and seasoned soldier.

The guys trying out for the RGT are mostly very green and it’s a big shock. I know over at ArmyRanger.com we have a mentorship program going for DEPs and I think right now only about 1 out of 5 makes it to Bat.
 
Yeah, I don't know what the failure rates are, I'd imagine between DLAB and SFAS it's pretty high though. NousDefions, IIRC, said he was SF, maybe he could shed some insight. Otherwise, this is getting off topic.

Because I was told to check my history on another thread I thought some could read this one again with some new light on the subject matter. Anyone that wants can correct me If Im wrong but is this not the original thread where Mick personally showed up and insulted people starting the "Shitstorm" that has now outed him and his business partner for who they really are, not the myth they created, sometimes a house of cards can get pretty big, but in the end, its still just a house of cards.

I dont see it that way at all, Sometimes the truth hurts, its painful. Mick had the biggest chip on his shoulder in the knife world, he ran his mouth off for years and discounted every Veteran who was not "Special" then it turns out he is a "Wash Out" thats right a "Wash Out" someone who gets sent packing out of Battalion, then he went AWOL, thats why he got out of the military, plain and simple, He went AWOL. He can claim medical this and medical that but its not on any of his records, maybe he did go to sick call or whatever but that has nothing to do with AWOL, "Absent Without Leave!"

Its right there on his documents for everybody to see. He made a complete ass of himself with all the bravado and BS "High Speed Tools For Hardcore Individuals" crap he spewed for years. I don't feel at all bad for them or bad about disrespecting them. I hope they get everything they deserve, who knows maybe they will get a good taste of their own medicine at one of their upcoming Rock Star Events!

I had a Strider SMF before, and it is a "High Speed Tools For Hardcore Individuals". it was tough, ad seemed like it could take everything thrown at it.

why dont you stop all this hatred and go watch some happy shows to brighten up your life? unless you found some new bad things about his knives, stop it.

You're new around here, aren't you.... There is a whole spectrum of feeling:

Some feel some crimes are so heinous they would never forgive them, at least not so far as to choose to do business with the person who committed them, even years later.

Some would be willing to forgive the past if he weren't lying about it now.

Some would be willing to forgive the lying if he would admit it and stop.

Some would be willing to forgive the lying if he would just stop, and wouldn't even require him to admit he'd lied. (That group is subdivided according to how long they feel he would have to go without lying about his past before they would feel he has stopped doing it. Is 15 minutes enough? If he's gone 15 minutes without lying about his past can we say it's all in the past and should be forgotten? No? How about a month? If he goes a month without posting any lies on the net that you happened to find, does that mean it's all in the past and should be forgotten?)

Some don't have any interest in what he did in the past or what lies he may tell about it now -- they feel that is irrelevant to their knife-buying choices.

Some just attack the messengers every time it comes up and never say how they feel about it. Maybe they've been too busy attacking the messengers to think about the message....
