A few things I've learned from the forums

Ive found myself reading these saying to myself "holy crap, did I do that" or "I posted that long thread on clay treating, i hope no one thought it was a tutorial!"

Heh. Ive been self monitoring, trying to put a "not an expert" disclaimer on things...sometimes its easy to answer something and have it come off sounding like youre stating a fact, when in reality, youre just trying to help offer what you know. Half of the things ive found most useful came from others correcting something I didnt understand!

I doubt anyone was offended since no one was specifically named. I did do some self-searching to see if I was a main offender on other peoples' pet peeve list....probably am....

:)

I've thought about what I posted on this thread for a day now, and it's been heavy on my mind. I voiced sincere frustrations not out of simple fun but mean spiritedness. That's not right. :(

It is always better to enjoy common ground than to exacerbate conflicting differences. Personally, I shall strive for that in my future posts.

I apologize to any offended by my comments. I just feel somehow wrong for having said anything.

Mike I see nothing you've said that is wrong in the sprit of this topic
.but see where you're going with it.
you know how it goes,
good jab in the right place, has it's place..

you like me I'm sure don't want to be remembered in a bad a way for a misconception of words said. thinking about it, .
Civilization, if that is where we are, is the place memories are born and last forever....:)
I to apologize to anyone if offended by my comments ,:o

to tie two together one needs but one connection,
if there wrong, where is that

but if their they are right then who is wrong and missed what while there, or here.
when one is not what they seem to be, look deeper and find the answer.
jibber jabber jabber  :) I have a lot of fun here,,,,
most the time.

Those two comments encapsulate my concern, Dave.

I had very specific instances in mind with my comments. However, I realized that by making them generic comments some may think it was pointed right at them when it actually had nothing to do with them. I regret that.

Mike it's like sitting in church: which I haven't done for toooo long) you listen and most of what is being said you can relate to good or bad and it seems the finger is pointed at you, I'm sure many others feel the same way sitting there,,,
it's just human nature to be LOOKING for it..it's a primal default if you will :)

I thought your statement was true pretty much in any aspect of life Mike. I dont think you should feel bad about it.

All in good fun Mike, relax. Besides, I can't even recall yesterday and I'm pretty sure you can't either!! :)

This is all in good fun but if I have offended anyone other than Dan with my comments it was truly intensional.:D :jerkit:

48. When you make an innocent post in good spirits, and others get carried away and someone gets offended by what they said, the original poster is always to blame.

Aw crap....

If I may give an opinion of what i have seen on the forum.
Sarcasm is a beautiful thing when not intended in a harmful way.
48 Some really stupid questions are asked.
49 I have asked some of them.
50 Sometimes stupid questions sound stupid because the guy that posts them sincerely wants knowledge but does not have much knowledge and therefore the question sounds stupid to a guy who does have some knowledge.
51 We were not all dealt the same gifts, one guys "logic" is not the same as anothers. Everything is relative.
52 we are not all dealt the same measure of patience
54 Some of the most patient, indulgent people i have ever encountered are right here on this forum.
55 The "search" does not work as well as a direct reply from a knowledgable guy.
56 Nobody knows everything and sometimes you need to sift through the BS

Some of this thread has been tongue-in-cheek and some of it not. Some guys think their way is the only way.
From Fitzo and Dan Gray and many others I have always had the impression that this was NOT the case, only sincere, unselfish advise and readiness to share their knowledge and help and as Mark says, there are a lot of great guys on this forum.
Yes Dan, that is brown on my nose:D :D
You and Fitzo do not need to beat yourselves up about anything, you guys give, I have read so many of your posts, you give.:thumbup
sincerely,

Mike

MJ, my comments had nothing at all to do with you. I judge no one but me.

To all: this has nothing to do with anything except how I felt about myself. Please accept that for what it is. Thank you.:)

Carry on.....

Mike, my whole intention in the post was for people to get a laugh. I threw that last part in to lighten it back up. You need to stop beating yourself up, theres plenty of people in the world waiting to do it for you ;)

And if you think on occasion you can be an a-hole, got news for you, everyone in here is guilty of that, not to mention the rest of the world. Wouldn't be human otherwise. That's why we each come with one.

You talking to me or Fitzo? Laughs I had a plenty, just did not see why fine gentlemen have to start beating up on themselves.:D :D
Looks like you exposed a good few Achilles heels here, maybe some bad speeling too!?

mike that's not brown, it's interest to know, I don't know it all and don't pretend to,and I thank you:o when I want to know things I do the same as you I too want all the facts and will offer what I know in return it goes hand in hand. it's why I keep the knife making site up. if someone knows it already then it should just drop out the other ear and pass it on., or kicked back up their A$$ opps sorry.:o :D

I see Mike Fitz's point , to better ones self is a life long experience and like knife making it will never be perfect.. except for those that get to much schooling
