Yer right. This has ventured into the Outer Limits. Time to return control of their TV set...... :p

I have only been on this forum a short time but some of you know me from the other ones that I have been on alot longer. The info I have been given in general is priceless and has helped me immensely. I have been a newbie in many different arenas and I have gotten used to asking the typical new guy questions and then down the road feeling kinda dumb for it. It is just part of the learning process. It serves to remind me to have patience with others that are newer then me.

This thread is funny because we have all asked the questions, we were all laughing at our collective selves. I was not offended in any way but I did take it to heart in a positive and constructive way. Any time we an tweak a forum towards being better and make sure we keep it healthy and positive is good.

I hope everyone keeps posting pictures of your knives no matter how crappy they might be. I still can get some idea's and inspiration from them. We are putting our ego' right on the "chopping block" every time we post a pic. I know quite a few members that never post, just lurk and that in my book is a form of leaching. I have more respect for the person that post's a supposed dumb question then the lurker. The poster will be making better knives and better friends long before the peeping toms will be.

Agreed! If we got to a point where most topics had been discussed and webpages existed that covered those topics, we'd have a lot less discussion.

While some questions are most easilly answered by research and webpage searching, some questions that come up from time to time are presented in a new light or have a completely different audience with new takes on the process, tips, tricks, etc. No one has to read any thread that they don't want to!

I, also, have taken away a very constructive feeling and attitude from a very funny and entertaining thread, so its all good in da' hood!

Yelm, WA??? I can throw a rock that far. Wow, you learn something new everyday! :)

Unlike one specific jack-ass I'm thinking of but won't name or point my finger at (Fitzo), I have not had any regrets for my comments. I'm a smart ass first... a jack-ass second! :p

I would proudly wear the sign for either though

Personally, I don't think there's any need for any apologies... we've all got our differences and have different thoughts on some of the stuff that goes on around here. If we can't point and laugh about it... then somebody else will! ;)

Sorry Mike, I know you were trying to duck out of this... but I had to poke at ya at least once! :D :D :D And please tell Nanc hi!!! :)

Oh, and Kanter.... "Your Motha'!!!" :D

'Sokay, Nick. As long as you're trying to poke me from the front. ;) Nanc said, "Up yours, Wheeler". She's pretty loyal. :D (j/k)

BTW, it has more impact if you say "Su madre".

68. Fitzo owes me a beer when we meet.
69. The Internet is a happy friendly place where all people get along with one another.
70. Al Gore invented this list.

and God bless us, everyone:thumbup:
I like what Mr Finnigan said, plenty of good sense there. Don't you just hate it when you ask a question and get ridiculed by others in the room who did not know the answer either and when someone answers the question they gain the knowledge too, without having to put their own ego on the block?
Bah!
Everyday I get less stupid, or should I say, less uninformed just by reading this forum.
Thanks all you smart gents and thank you to all the other guys that ask stupid questions, takes some heat off me.:D :D

Mr Lovett, I doubt very much that there's a friggin soul around except a fool who would judge me a liberal bleeding heart pansy. Well, perhaps an idiot may, too. I'm not certain. I'm not quite so perfect as some, though, who figured that because they said it, it musn't be a mistake.

I said I didn't like what was coming out of my mouth. My mouth. So, I said so, with enough balls to do it in public. I didn't have a word of condemnation for anyone else, nor would I. You and the others that are liking it, carry on.

I can certainly be just as big an a$$hole as anyone else, I have as many years experience at it as you do. It's just that there are times I regret it nowadays. Life is growing short, and I'm trying to learn a few lessons here while I have time left.

You got a problem with that? Tuff crap.
Now that's more like it.Heeee! M. Lovett

I am a jackass, but I make up for it with my stunning good looks and overall lack of perception of how others view me. Ignorance is bliss.

I would love to get together with you someday and have a few beers, Dan. If your ever in Wisconsin you are welcome any time. I built this press that I would love to show you. Let me tell you about the design, ..............:D

How far are you from Jeff Higgins? Are there any shows that you do that arent local?

only if I can tell you what's wrong with the press :D

I think I'm about 3 1/2" hours north east from Jeff.
I don't do many shows Mike, over a year behind in orders keeps me here.

because of the way you built it of coarse,, daaa :rolleyes:how many years did you say you were schooled ? :D

Just thought I'd hi-jack my own thread for second. If anyone was wondering who I am, I'm just learning, starting out bladesmithing (2 years roughly on my first blade). Though I do have a damn fine shop, once I get everything setup. I know more people from the forum from IRC then in here, so if you don't know me, chances are you haven't been chatting there ;)

p.s. for anyone interested, our irc channel is #bladeforums.com on irc.unitedusers.net or irc.noo.bz We used to have a pretty good showing of regulars, but its died down the past few months. Then Spark abandoned us for some reason, so theres no 'advertising'. People start showing up at 9PM EST when they do. Feel free to stop in sometime.
