A few things I've learned from the forums

The whole country is becoming "TOO POLITICALY CORRECY"!!! this thread was a blast, and getting better and better. . Then It took a wrong turn with folks showing sorrow for what they said and thought. Com' on guys, Be a stand up kind of guy. Say what you mean, and mean what you say. You Know, The way the Duke would have done it. Too much. Bleeding heart panzie liberal crap going around. Mike:D

57. No one in the world made damascus before the famous American Smith! The Germans, Sweeds, Turks, and many more. Only when we finaly figure it out a few hundred years late, does it count. When one of us finaly pulls it off, We've found the lost art. If we don't have it, its Lost!!! 58. A quick heat with a torch is far superior to the controled and timed heat treat developed thru scientific means, Metalurgy and proper test procedures

will never be perfect.. except for those that get to much schooling

mike K you thought I was going to say that was you right:D
well I wont say it because it's true.. :jerkit: :p

Aw, come on Dan, I'm just having fun with you.:D
I do have a question though, exactly how much is " to much schooling":D

You know what this thread needs? Another post by Nick Wheeler!
Nick, where are you?

I think everyone needs to lighten up a bit.;)

Mr Lovett, I doubt very much that there's a friggin soul around except a fool who would judge me a liberal bleeding heart pansy. Well, perhaps an idiot may, too. I'm not certain. I'm not quite so perfect as some, though, who figured that because they said it, it musn't be a mistake.

I said I didn't like what was coming out of my mouth. My mouth. So, I said so, with enough balls to do it in public. I didn't have a word of condemnation for anyone else, nor would I. You and the others that are liking it, carry on.

I can certainly be just as big an a$$hole as anyone else, I have as many years experience at it as you do. It's just that there are times I regret it nowadays. Life is growing short, and I'm trying to learn a few lessons here while I have time left.

You got a problem with that? Tuff crap.

Now, to everyone else:

I said my bit, and I'm trying to leave off it. Y'all go back to whatever you want and no more at me and I'll shut up.

I'm not sorry I apologized for saying something I later felt bad about. I'm just sorry I said anything in the first place.

Fitzo, from what I have seen here you are VERY well liked, never seen you post anything nasty.
You take care buddy.

Mike

#61 some one can submit a well thought out, informative post and elicit no response at all, while one of the "big dogs"can announce that he carried the trash out this morning, and receive 46 replies.

Mike Fitzgerald is a damn cool cat... I dig him a lot, he's always articulate and quick witted and just plain a good dude.

Michael Kanter is often referred to as Adam. He is not Adam. If you call him Adam you are f-ing stupid. He says that F word a lot. And yes, I like that about him.

Matt Roberts is a punk sob because he's younger than me, smarter than me, and he's got a loving wife... NOT to mention he makes kick-ass knives and he's not been doing it very long.

If you don't post 20 times a day, people decide you have become some sort of elitist, and think you're too good for "the guys" and there's no f-ing way it could be that you're very busy and trying to stay focused in the shop.

While a lot of knives that get posted are quite rank in nature, I can appreciate that guys give the posters a lot of encouragement, and those new makers will prolly walk cirlces around me and my excuse for bladesmithing soon enough. But then again, some of the guys will always suck big ass forever.

Bill Buxton is a good dude that has the same sickness I do with hammering and heat-treating steel. While he has a funny accent, I will let it slide because he's cool... And he also has a good handle on the proper use of colorful language.

Oh, and of course, Dan Gray is quite retarded. But in all fareness, he did have his very own short yellow bus to ride to "school" in.

:D

Thanks, and good-night

just over not enough, according to the one's that have to much schooling
and think with their a$$holes and not with their brains but not limited to those that know the difference but act on their thoughts anyway..hehehe :D

all kidding a side,, we all need a hammer/in together, have a good drink of choice and shoot some poo.. there is so much for all to offer, many times new things also come from those that don't know a lot yet about making, so even the new guy can fit in very well. .

#'? have you ever thought about making knives yourself?

A knife buddy of mine once had a guy ask him this at his own table at a sportsman show one time,
he said in return, yes I've thought about it a few times:D

I would love to get together with you someday and have a few beers, Dan. If your ever in Wisconsin you are welcome any time. I built this press that I would love to show you. Let me tell you about the design, ..............:D

How far are you from Jeff Higgins? Are there any shows that you do that arent local?

MJ Hofbauer, I trashed your thread and I feel bad about that. I can't take it back, now, but I can promise you it won't happen again. I'd have said this in a PM, but "it" says I can't PM you.

Good day to you......

62. Stupid questions are inspiring.

Exactly what I was doing, Sweany. That last look around as one leaves the room; put the cap on the acetone bottle, put the used wet-or-dry in the garbage, that sort of thing......:) We used to call it "finalization" at work. Time to turn the light out on the shop and go have a cup of coffee.

I'll re-summarize: There's a lot of us jackasses around here. I didn't want someone thinking I was calling them a jackass when I actually meant a different jackass. Now, I'm sorry, but I just won't name names. It's probably getting confusing again, because in their heart of hearts there are many here who also know they fit the description and are wondering if I'm talking about them. They'll have to sort that one out on their own, though. :D

Now, all my braying has caused me to have a sore throat. I need that coffee. Didn't know jackasses drank coffee, did ya? Well, maybe ya did. ;)

You folks have a good day.:)

I just cant figure out if I am the first jackass or "a different jackass".

I am a jackass, but I make up for it with my stunning good looks and overall lack of perception of how others view me. Ignorance is bliss.
