Looks like there is yet another great design out by A.G. Russell. This is a single bladed jack that features either a Wharnecliffe or Zulu spear blade. Has anyone ordered one, or more, yet?

Ooh ooh ooh! That is dang sharp looking! Nice price too.

I like 'em. The amber bone looks nice. Not sure I dig the double pull on the zulu though. Think I'd prefer to have just one on that blade.

Both are gorgeous! I wouldn't mind getting either... Wharnie and spear, my two fave blade types :D

I orderd a Wharnie with amber bone last Friday. They say they should start shipping after April 25th. Can't wait.

Chris.

I don't dig the duble pull on the zulu, but may order one anyway. The quality of the AG Russel knives has been great for the price. However, that warnie is a must have. :)

Must have missed my email/brochure/catalog that had this one in it. I'll have to check my mail, and hopefully my wife isn't keeping my knife catalogs from me.

Those are nice. I'm not fond of double pulls myself, but I could live with that one I think. Unfortunately, I'm already overspent in the knife budget, so I'll have to wait a bit. Ed J

For those interested in finding out about new stuff right away, find the AGRussell company on Facebook and friend/like them. I saw notice of these new knives a week ago on FB.

Chris.

The wharncliffe looks nice, but I'd be interested to hear what it's like after they start shipping. The 50% thicker blade:confused: has me hesitating on it. The "zulu" doesn't do it for me at all. The shape looks more like a drop point to me and the double pulls are horrid.:barf:

Website says temporarily unavailable for all four variants, must be popular if its sold out in a week.

Did they sell out? Haven't seen anyone mention they have one. Possible AG hasn't gotten them in yet.

They both really look nice.
I'm growing fond of AGs traditionals, especially at the price.

I agree, that double pull is well out of place, horrid!:thumbdn:

The Wharncliffe looks very appealling though.

Fellas, let's conduct inquiries regarding stock and availability directly with the dealer/vendor and use this thread and forum to discuss the knives. Thank you.

Wow,both look fantastic! AG has a couple o' more winners on his hands there.

I'd like to see a pic of knife closed. Maybe a sunk joint ? Don't know if it's feasible for this pattern, but a sunk joint would be very 'classy' (and save the pockets).
I think the "50% thicker" Wharncliffe blade" is not a worry. Wharncliffe blades are usually secondaries on production knives so tend to be thinner in that situation. I think this is what AG is saying ??
I think this will prove to be what some posters were asking for in the threads about the new BIG folders from AGR: same exacting tolerances and quality materials but in a smaller knife.
I also think AG is really onto something here. These might start showing up in quite a few different patterns and will quickly gain a piece of the folder 'market'. If you like knives, you can't help but be impressed with all the ones seen so far.

I am looking forward to seeing more pics of the thicker Wharnie blade as well. Great price and the length is perfect (at least for me). I wonder if these knives have half-stops? I think I read in one of Corey's posts that A.G. Russell does not care for half-stops?
