A.G. Russell Xmas email...

It might be The Element (or Elemental) since Titanium is one of the 90 naturally occurring elements.

The A.G. Russell Elemental folder...nice ring to it.

Hi A.G.

I agree with Ben. AGR RIL

RIL Give credit where credit is due. "Famelock" is a word that was made up to avoid giving Chris Reeve credit for his trademarked name for his lock. Kind of like the "side-Lock" was created to avoid giving Michael Walker credit for his trademarked name.

Lansky for Loray? :p

Say "hi" to Goldie and Phil for me.

Sal, I am really surprised, Sal Glesser suggesting that I use someone else's trademark on one of my products. How often have I tried to help you protect your trademarks?

I will leave Chris strictly alone except to tell people that he has one of, if not "the" best engineered framelock folders in the world.

I would make an exception for mine, but that will be for the public to decide in the future.

I haven't seen this suggestion yet (unless I missed it):

The AG Russell Ultimate Frame Lock.

You know, kinda like the Ultimate Pen Knife - I really like mine BTW.

The Klaproth (Martin Klaproth gave the name "Titanium" to this metal).
The A.G. Russell 22 (Titanium's atomic number is 22).
The Rutile or The Ilmenite (Titanium occurs in these mineral desposits).
The 2190 (the temperature [in Fahrenheit] that titanium burns at).
The Nettle (nettle contains up to 80 parts per million of titanium).
The A. G. Russell Model Five (Grade 5 is the most commercially available grade of titanium. Ti6Al4V, Ti-6AL-4V, and Ti 6-4 are all Grade 5 titanium.)

Surely you could work something out with Reeve to make it right.

Not a big thing if my suggestion is not used, but I think your words to Sal where uncalled for, in a public forum.

Hi A.G.

I think that perhaps you misunderstood my intention.

When we make knives with a "Chris Reeve style Integral Lock", which we call it with his permission, the acronym is RIL (Reeve Integral Lock). It's our way of giving him credit for the creation of the lock. If Chris didn't approve, we wouldn't call it that. Calling it a "framelock" gives him no credit.

That's why we use the term "Walker Linerlock", when refering to locks of that design. That way at least Michael's name is attached to his creation as the designation for that type of lock.....if that makes any sense.

There is no intention to suggest that you be dishonorable.
