A.G. Russell Xmas email...

Surely you could work something out with Reeve to make it right.

Not a big thing if my suggestion is not used, but I think your words to Sal where uncalled for, in a public forum.

/\ That's what I was thinking. /\

I see the Chris Reeve Integral Lock and the Hinderer Stabilizer.
Who invented the low-rider clip? ( STR maybe? :D )
It looks like a Seb-Pinnacle-Alias. ;)

This is a good looking design. I hope this doesn't end up being a $300+ Chinese knife, and that the appropriate influences are given due credit for the intellectual property.

Not sure if this has been said, but hows about:

A. G. Russell Titanium Intergral Lock (TIL) "It will keep on working 'TIL the cows come home."

A. G. Russell Foreman. Built to work.

A. G. Russell Contractor. It'll do the dirty work.

Using the "Reeve-style integral-lock" is no different than saying a "Walker-style liner-lock" as seen in almost every piece of copy on a liner-lock knife in the A. G. Russell's catalog.

Either way, I'm sure it will be on my short list. I loved the Italian-made Ti framelock, and this one looks even beefier. Although I prefer a high hollow grind, this one looks spiffy.

I'd like to mention that I love how the blade comes down even with the bottom of the handle, and would offer itself well to dicing on a cutting board.

Maybe the A. G. Russell W.I.R.L. Works in Real Life. or W.H.I.R.L. Works hard in real life.

What about "Franken", short for Frankenstein, for all the features it combines into one kniw.

I see, it is wrong for me to disagree with Sal in public but it is alright for you and your friends to call me out in public. Very interesting.

This is an American made knife with blade steel that was made in Japan. As with all of our knives, if it is ever made in China we will say so.

Hi A.G.

I agree with Ben. AGR RIL

RIL Give credit where credit is due. "Famelock" is a word that was made up to avoid giving Chris Reeve credit for his trademarked name for his lock. Kind of like the "side-Lock" was created to avoid giving Michael Walker credit for his trademarked name.

Lansky for Loray? :p

Say "hi" to Goldie and Phil for me.

sal

Sal, Goldie and Phil both wish you a wonderful Holiday season including a happy and prosperous new year.

I am sorry, I never heard of an Integral Lock until this thread. As the frame lock is nothing but a Walker Lock without handles I fail to see the point of what is being said. Since the frame lock includes the Walker detent you can hardly seperate them.

please explain "Lanskky for Loray?"

thanks,

Let me be the first to pose and answer the ultimate question.

Should I get a Sebenza or the new AG Russell all Ti folder?

****say it with me as a group, b/c we will all hear it soon enough****

SEBENZA! ;):D

Now a more serious question. Is the Lock Bar Stabilizer a Hinderer LBS? I only ask b/c there is no question who designed that.

Great Question, Get Chris to make you a Sebenza with a blade of ZDP, then buy mine and compare the two and return the one you like least. To do otherwise seems pretty silly

Now to your more serious qustion, if there is no question then why ask the question??????????????????????

The first comment was a joke. However, it will happen. It happens half a dozen times a month, right here in the General Sub. It doesn't matter what the other Ti frame knife is... the answer is always the same. You are welcome to sit and watch with me.

I ask the question b/c you didn't seem to know what a RIL was. It only follows that you might not be aware of what a Hinderer LBS is. It was a serious question. If you care to answer, please do.

Edit to add: Let me clarify my original question. Have you checked with Rick to see if it is kosher for you to use his design?

Further, I have never cared for ZDP or the CRK Sebenza (in either size) and have owned many examples of each. So, I will not be buying another CRK Sebenza any time soon, nor, will I be buying your knife. Fair enough?

It seems like you're missing the point. I don't think it was ever Sal's intention to cause you any grief, but you mistook what he was stating.

Why do you not ask Rick, I get the impression that you would not give much credit to anything I said anyway.

I'll give your words credit, and I'd like to know the answer to that question myself.

What is this knife?

What are the specs of this knife please?

Easiest way is to ask Rick himself , rather than call someone out like that.

Straight from Rick himself " It is a Authorized use. " ( which I got via email ).
