just came into the shop and getting caught up on the news, terrible shame about the news crew that got killed. I just don't understand how people get so damaged.

On a good note however, I had a new apprentice start today. young guy, (well younger than me) Murph just met him in passing a couple months ago and struck up conversation with him, he got on the website, facebook and forums to check out the work, got a hold of me wanting to learn, brought him in for a interview/meet and great, and then he started today, showed up on time, anxious to learn and is chomping at the bit to learn leather work, seems like a pretty standup guy and im hoping he works out. if I cant run him off and he's still around in a month or two, I will introduce him to you guys. He seems to be a sponge right now taking this all in, I told him about the forums and he has just become a member.

Awesome man, hope it works out. Growth is good.

last time, that didn't go well :D

Which is kinda funny, 'cuz daiz and Ray and I were discussing that incident a couple weekends ago.....though you may have somehow psychologically maimed MM; haven't seen him around for some time. I'm not saying it was aliens or anything,.....but it was aliens.

so you're saying it wasn't anything but aliens. Got it!

Are you in VA? And yeah, it was a pistol. They know who he is and they're chasing him now. Former employee of WDBJ.

Yep. The chase for the guy ended about six or seven miles away from my house. We were at the car dealership in town when 66 got shut down. Good thing we weren't trying to get home.

todd, congrats on the new guy, hope it works out, even if that means I'm out of a job....

So for the last year or so I've been looking for a good, inexpensive wool shirt jac, do any of you guys have a suggestion? I've looked at woolrich and they have a couple i like but they are a little pricy. I also really like the fred asbell hoodies, but not sure if i want a hoodies or not

asbell does some non-hooded models and his prices seem pretty decent.
you might also try searching eprey for the bsa wool shirt jac's they clearanced a couple years ago -- heavy shirts, slightly itchy, but machine washable.

Odd cleaning question...

I was out the other weekend with the wife looking at some used furniture when I came across a used micro-fridge for what I thought was a good price. We were in a bit of a rush, so I didn't do a lot of due diligence on it. I brought it home, put it in the garage, and plugged it in. Cools great, but now I see, or more accurately smell, why it was such a good price - it smells smokey and is making the can and bottles of the cool beverages it holds smell smoky as well.

I've tried wiping it down with kitchen cleaner, Windex, put some coffee grounds in it, and now a box of baking soda. No luck. The smell is stronger than that.

Anyone got any suggestions short of burning the thing to the ground? I've wanted one for a few years but have been unwilling to pay the prices I've seen elsewhere, and I'd really like to get it where it doesn't stink so I can keep it.

Chlorine, alcohol, Oxi-Clean (or similar) and lastly there are some enzyme cleaners that I can't recall the names of right now, but if you googley, I bet you'll find them. Sweet call on the fridge....I've taken some heat from the female living here that "beer is taking up half the fridge!" - total exaggeration. It's only taking up, like, 25%....

I'll try the others, but I've got to say the alcohol in there hasn't been effective in getting rid of the smell so far. ;)

seems like a pretty standup guy and im hoping he works out.

Then what's he doing hanging around ya'll? :D

Anyone else think it's funny that it's Women's Equality day and National Dog Day? Most of my female friends are talking about their dogs...
