A Midsummer Night's Snark

I'll try the others, but I've got to say the alcohol in there hasn't been effective in getting rid of the smell so far. ;)

How about some good old fashioned bleach?

It's also possible that the smell is lodged into the fan assembly. Might take some effort or time to get it how you want it.

First assumption - the smell is inside the fridge.

Make sure you clean the GASKETS well. They usually have little ridges hold "stuff". I had a fridge one that I could NOT get rid of the sour milk smell out of regardless of how well I cleaned it. The smell stayed around. The gasket started leaking air and the fridge would run all the time, so I replaced gasket. The sour milk smell went away.

Second assumption - The smell is coming from something outside the fridge.

On day I started smelling "dead mouse". (If you have never had the "pleasure" of having a mouse die somewhere in your house and then start stinking as it rots, lucky you.) I searched high and low for the stinky deceased pest. After searching/cleaning all the closets, cabinets and drawers in the kitchen (where the odor was strongest), by process of elimination, I decided that the dead critter had to be under either the stove or the fridge. Those were the only 2 places I hadn't looked yet. Found the stinky creature cooking on top of the compressor.

Your smoky odor may be embedded in the dust/grime that has accumulated around the compressor and coils.

If all else fails unplug it and leave it outside for a few days. Fresh air might make a big difference.

I was going to say burn it to the ground but... you said you didn't want to do that :D

If you can get 'Charlie Soap' where you are... That stuff is the bombdiggity,

You may have to partially disassemble it to get any grease, dirt and dust that has accumulated inside the workings. Don't know if you just put baking soda inside or made a paste and scrubbed with it. The latter will have more effect than the former. You could follow up the baking soda scrub with some white vinegar and water (half and half) as well.

Little update, I know I haven't been around lately, I've been to busy to get on my computer and my phone for some reason doesn't load BF properly and I'm constantly getting errors, wierd cause it only happens on BF, well anyways, I will be entering blade 2016 as a sheath/knife maker, got a 710 skellie thats in the works. Hopefully Steve Johnson and I will be sharing a booth. More to come.

Good stuff JD, Good stuff! Maybe you can get your gear on the KaBar table as well as your own. The more square footage covered the better, as well as the name recognition to go along with it.

Saw that last one on instagram, I really want it

Todd has mad skizzles.

Thanks guys, there really a lot of fun to make, getting pretty good at them as far as function goes, the larger one with the turquoise heart really functions flawlessly and even locks in the open position, I slightly cam shaped the back stop and it clicks solidly open. Not gonna close on you finger.

Congrats on the new house Jerry! It's a much better feeling paying a mortgage than a rental payment! Hope the move goes well brother!

Julio, excellent news brother! I'm thinking I may attend this year.. Will be great to meet up.

Todd, beautiful work once again bud!

I need me some monies..... So much I want to do and add to my workshop... I already created 6 stations for table top tools like scroll saw, drill press, sander.... Then I have 2 desk areas for open workspace... So far anyways... Only own 3 tools so it's looking pretty bare in there right now.... I wanna buy buy buy :D

Can't afford a kmg.... Can't afford the big bandsaw I want.... So I guess I'll be looking at table saws, chop saws, routers.... What else??

Thanks! We just have a one bedroom apartment and a freezer 1/4 full of beef to move, so it shouldn't be tooooo bad. It might be amusing wandering around in an empty house for a bit though.

Depending on what you want to do with wood, a planer and jointer would come in handy as well. If the FIL has those, you may be able to save the room and money and go over to his shop to use his.
