A new Breeden knife, my new woods wandering partner.

Ok...because of the somewhat different nature of this one I am going to do a different thread on this one, one all to itself.... soon....but here is a picture of the next Breeden I'll be working with. This one we worked up with more of a "combative" nature but still very useable in the woods.

Hi all,
Thanks Dr. Snake, Here are the specs on this one that mistwalker has.
It has a 6.5" long by 3/16" 0-1 steel and is just a little over 1.5" wide blade. The handle is just about 5".
Yea mistwalker does some neat reveiws.
Mistwalker has gotten the knife and after chatting with him I can hardly wait to see what his next reveiw will be like.

Looking forward to getting your email.

Just a few pics that illustrate how the bevel (acute angle on left side) on the scallop and choil facilitate a good grip an good scraping surface for making fatwood fuzz, and how using this and the razor sharp edge to make thin shavings makes me very pleased with this knife's attributes for fire starting. I'll definitely be incorporating this into a smaller version in the future.

man those are really thin scrapings. I take it you really like that little beveled area you put in your scallop?

Yeah, actually I like it a lot so far. I think it may well become a standard or at least common thing for me to do. When it comes to fire starting I like every edge I can get. And it didn't take much of a bevel at all for me to notice a difference.
