A New Folder from CRK

please don't be a military theme folder, if people want that, go to strider. if it's military, i might call william henry..

I hope I am pleasantly surprised, but I agree a bigger heavier military folder I think would not be a good move.

I wouldn't mind a more hefty blade tip, like on a sheepfoot/wharncliff, but I wouldn't be pleased with a super-sized design aimed squarely at military use. I think a knife can be well suited to general use, including front-line work, without excluding the "general user". While I like and enjoy Strider knives and knives of their design and intent, the average soldier has gotten by fine with knives like 110s, SAKs, and Delicas for many years before the "hardcore" segment of knives became so popular. Price-point should also be considered as the average soldier isn't making huge sums of money.

Nukemkb - thanks for volunteering to post as soon as you see it! The rest of us appreciate it! :-D

A big heavy military-ish thing is the only folder they could release that I would have no interest in.

Count me as another that agrees with this statement.

I'm in the group(s) hoping for either a small Umfaan(ish) knife or something between the small and large sized Sebenzas.

You know, it would be neat to see an entry level folder in some ways as well. I'm talking something in the $100-150 range. I bet CRK could put some real heat on companies like BM and Spyderco had they an offering in their price range.

How about a slim razor of a military style knife? I am really into fighting knives but most companies seem to think a fighter is some type of prybar. My spyderco Mule is exactly what I like for a concealable fixed blade. Thin light ,razor sharp with a blade that would leave a wide wound channel.

Not to worry. There will be plenty available immediately following the Blade Show.

From a very reputable source.

I hope it is a 3" Wharny of some kind personally.

Something inbetween the two sizes he makes now in folders and with a choil would be great in a frame lock IMO.

I'm so glad I'm going to Blade this year. I'll definitely be brining my camera with me and will post some pics here as soon as I can assuming CRK gives me the OK.

Personally, I'd love for it to be the crocodile. We all love the inlay Micarta Sebenzas and the only thing better than that would be to have the entire handle Micarta with Ti liners.

I'll have to call them up tomorrow to get my name on a list. Maybe I can take delivery at Blade :)

I'd probably be breaking some law by taking pictures from the DVD and posting it here, but you should call up CRK and order the DVD. It's 2 discs and for any fan it's pretty cool to see how the knives are made, the sheaths and interviews with Chris and Bill Harsey.

SO I just bought the DVD to see what this Harsey/Reeve Crocodile is... Looks nice when he was showing it in that Solid Works program on his Laptop in his loft... (all at the end of Disc one). I have yet to see all the way through disc two though.

I was praying for the Umfaan, But should it be the Ingwenya (Zulu for Crocodile) I guess I will need to wait until the end of September for Blade West in Portland to get it...

I'm thinking it will be Ingwenya... Thoughts?
