A new ZT 454 Thread for people who enjoy it

I noticed the 454 with the low serial number has a stonewashed finish on the Sandvik 14C28N and the cpm d2 is darker in color than a 454 with the higher serial #

Received mine today, #207. Looks pretty in photos, but takes on a whole new aesthetic in hand.

Greg - Awesome pictures man. What camera are you shooting with? I just got my Canon 60D a few months ago, and it's amazing. Although each picture is literally like 8mb each. I've tried to snap a few good ones of my 0454 but I can't get the lighting right. I'll take it out in the sun tomorrow for a couple good ones.

Good catch on the Jimping. I love the aggressive jimping on the new ones. It's probably the best I've ever felt, and it doesn't hurt with a lot of force.

I shoot with my trusty old low res D700, mostly with inexpensive 30+ year old manual focus lenses. Here is one more 0454 shot for the day. It's not the sharpest, but then again it's not terrible considering I shot it free hand in a fairly dark room with an ancient AI 50/1.4:

Here's a couple quick shots with my Socom Delta. They are very similar in size and profile but the SD is a bit heavier. Before the 0454 arrived this was the smoothest action knife I owned.

Is your Socom aluminum or G10, because the Socom is already a pretty light-weight knife. (I know, because I'm playing with my G10, S30v SD right now) 😃🔪

That's the first time I've ever seen low-res and D700 in the same sentence. A full-frame sensor with 12.1 MP is quite powerful, unless it's being compared to something like a medium format camera.
