A Request to Buck Knives from a buyer of Buck Knives

I'd rather they just reevaluated their quality control so the one I did have didn't have to be sent back for repairs after 1 month..

A 1095 carbon steel blade would be my choice, plain and simple like the charm of the original knife!

I don't know if they where ever in 1095, but I would buy a lot more bucks if they were offered in high carbon steel such as 1095

I'm still hopeful for a 301 Stockman in a premium steel. I used to really want ATS34 but now I'd be delighted with Sandvik 13C26.
Just a thought.

I agree on the need for a 110, and a 112 drop point. love the drop point look, as it looks a little stronger than the clip point. I all in on a custom shop or a regular production run. I would prefer the 420HC, and think the 1095 carbon steel would also be a good user.

I'll gladly resurrect this thread.

I'd buy every handle option they have with a Drop Point and s30v.

I'd buy a custom drop point 110 in a second.
Unfortunately, one of my least favorite aspects of the clip point on the 110 is its thin/fragile tip.
You really have to think about what you're doing with the knife to avoid snapping it off.
A drop point blade would vastly improve the blade in that area.
Plus, I just like the look of a drop point better!

Flatlander 1963 I hear you. I've said the same. They do a good job heat treating a wide array of higher end stainless like 154CM, or S30V, but Sandvik never ceases to impress me given the price, very pure, clean, fine steel. Why not offer all this in the 300 series ? I'd buy several, even though I'm content with 420HC, it works nonetheless. I'm just willing to spend more money.

I have drop point Selector blades. All I use them for is skinning. When I am boning chicken or prepping fruits and vegetables, I much prefer a sharp clip point.

Being the 110 lover I am, having a BG-42 option would be out of this world, but I know that's not going to happen. However, adding a Drop Point option in the steels they currently have shouldn't be a problem and as I said before, I'd buy a 110 in every handle option they have with a Drop Point.

I would definitely buy a few customs with different handles options with a drop point blade. 110 and 112.

Buck did do this as recently as March 2012 a drop point 110 with S30V blade. Then in June 2011 a 112 drop point with S30V blade. Then again in June 2010 a 110 with S30V blade. Then again in June 2006 a 112 drop point with S30V blade and sambar stag handles. Again in Dec. 2005 Buck offered to the collectors a 110 with drop point blade of S30V and sambar stag handles. Here are some. DM

Those are nice David. Were they available on Buck's web site?

They were made available to the Buck collectors (members) in mid 2011. They came shaving sharp out of the box. I missed the 112 offering in 2006 so I made up for it here. Thank you, DM

We need those in the regular custom shop for sure. I've also been mailing them about offering a 112 in there. A 112 in a drop point....I'd never EDC anything else.

My point being, is you guys wanting these certain knives could have already had your desired model simply by becoming a member of the Buck Collectors and then purchasing them as they were offered.
Those models Have been offered Several times. DM

Mike, here is you a 500 with S30V steel which Buck offered to Buck Collectors 2yrs. ago in the Heritage Series. DM

Those are awesome David. I know in the past we have discussed Drop Points being offered, if nothing else for those of us that hunt and really like the design.
True, they have offered them in the past for BCCI members, but I still don't understand why they don't offer a regular production 110 or 112 with a drop point.
I still believe they would sell. Heck, I wouldn't complain if they offered the drop point in 420HC. Although, a custom shop offering would be even better...

There are production knife companies that offer a broad selection of blade designs, and different scale options as well. I know the production process of each knife company is different, but I have to believe they would sell, even if they raised the price a little to help recoup the added expense. The 110 is still the best knife bargain there is imho. It seems like once they had all the pieces available, it wouldn't take any longer to put one together on the line.
People like a little variety. Especially for a knife that has been around so long. I know the Custom option is there, but I'm sure there are a bigger percentage of knife people that don't even know that option exists.
