True, they have offered them in the past for BCCI members, but I still don't understand why they don't offer a regular production 110 or 112 with a drop point.

There are production knife companies that offer a broad selection of blade designs, and different scale options as well. I know the production process of each knife company is different, but I have to believe they would sell, even if they raised the price a little to help recoup the added expense. The 110 is still the best knife bargain there is imho. It seems like once they had all the pieces available, it wouldn't take any longer to put one together on the line.
People like a little variety. Especially for a knife that has been around so long. I know the Custom option is there, but I'm sure there are a bigger percentage of knife people that don't even know that option exists.

I agree and this is what I don't really understand as well. They do have or have had the pieces, right? Isn't it the 422/442/482 blades that fit on the 112? Aren't there similar blades that would be a similar fit on the 110? They offer so many models every year and many new models from year to year, with many that don't get produced more than a few years, so why hasn't the drop point 110/112 happened yet as a catalog/regular production item?
 
I'd love to see a custon drop-point option for 110s, but my hunch is that the company sees the 110 as perfect as it is. You want a drop point? Try the 500 and its series. Or join the BCCI.

I would buy at least two - 110 and 112 (ecolite would be nice). If I ended up liking them I might buy more for gifts.

If I could get Drop point 110s, the clip point would never be bought again by me. The 500 is the reason why I want a 110 with a drop point blade, that blade rocks on the 500, I have almost made the conclusion that the 500 is my favorite Buck folder and it is all because of the drop point. I can not see why a drop point can't be offered by the custom shop for the 110 and special runs of the 112.

I am all in on this idea. Drop point would be nice and s30v a great option!
