In a word, killing.
We tend to shy away from saying that out loud... but other than opening packages, a design like that is also very, very good at opening people (every predator on the planet has teeth/claws/beaks shaped that way for a very good reason) Talk of thrusting with such a blade strikes me as silly... it's a slasher. Stabbing folks with a small implement is a pretty poor way to make them stop doing whatever unpleasant stuff they're doing anyway, unless you sever their spine or do it 30 or 40 times, prison-style. Massive immediate blood-loss and severing important things like tendons and muscles is much more reliable when time is of the essence.
I've been contemplating for years making a semi-bowie type fighter with a sharpened clip on the edge side... but the market for such a monster is so small that I haven't bothered actually grinding one out. It would be next to useless for anything else. You can get almost the same performance from a "normal" bowie with a sharpened clip and employing the back-cut... and such a knife is still extremely useful for more mundane and peaceful tasks.

Can anyone vouch for how reliable those uber-cheap stoves are? Like the ones that have been posted here from the river-store and fleabay?

Sigh.... Granted, I would rather it open up under a bunch of rare cars instead of an apartment building or a family home.
Edit: Problem solved. New revenue opportunity/ tourist attraction. Just use the corvettes to give cave tours now.

I actually stopped in when I was out there with my dad. I made him stop (I was a petrolhead long before I was a knife knut)

Personally, there are a few apartment buildings I wouldn't mind watching get swallowed by a sink hole.
