We have one, it works great.

I've used mine quite a bit without any issue.
Just as you're inclined, in my car kits (my vehicle and my wife's), I tend to put good gear but not my most expensive gear.
Both of mine have $5 China stoves in them.

Thanks. I figured they're all made overseas anyways.

QC can be hit or miss on the no-name stuff.

That looks pretty awesome! reminds me of the 70's... the old folks in here will remember this one....

Brings back some fond memories. I had one of those. It was on the shelf next to my candle wax and molds.

Nope, never taken Filipino martial arts training. As a 6' tall, 300 lb white guy who has never been in the military, I don't really have any martial arts training outside of the shooting range. The movement you'd have to use on the tip to get penetration seems like an unnatural movement, it seems like it would be rolling your wrist. Just pushing the blade seems like all it would do is glance off and double back onto you. That is just how it seems from my eyes. I come at things from a different angle so it's completely possible that I just don't see the value of it. I don't look at knives for "defense." To me knives are to be used for cooking and woods tool type things. Fists are used for defense, or if worse comes to worst, a gun. But that is a last ditch effort.

That I can understand, just that whole style of blade has never been attractive to me.

If you have it in a forward grip, and press in, the tip of the blade presses into the material. Then you just pull perpendicular and you have great leverage on the cut. In combat, it's generally meant to be held reverse grip. Again, on a punch, the tip is forward, so you get penetration, and then you rip and cut. You can also cut their limbs when you block. Great for hooking, then you can cut. They're even more wicked partially sharpened on the back side too. Quite efficient little blades. When I actually make it to a Gathering, I'll try to make one to bring and I'll show you a little.

anybody watch the new Riddick movie?? IMO the only thing good about that movie is getting a few shots of Kara Thrace bouncing babies:p... other than that it's pretty much the same as the 1st movie..

you ever have one of those days or weeks were you don't really wanna do anything and everything is just annoying???

I'd get to know someone before marrying them. Then again, I'm not married so maybe people have taken my suggestion and gotten to know me.

Yes, I have seen it. I agree, nothing really special about the movie, except Starbuck's stars.

I meant to respond to this to. Yes I do have those days, weeks, months. I generally try to just work through them if I can. If I can't I enjoy liquid libations quite liberally.

Yeah, pretty much every day, lol.

We had one, too. Funny, cause my mom didn't drink.....and I don't recall my dad having wine much either.....but then again, there were a lot more beverages in glass in the 70's. Half of the kids I knew made ashtrays out of beer bottles slagged in a campfire, too. Not, me, though; didn't smoke.

Or months? I try to alternate, so if I'm angry and annoyed one week, the following week I'm just a slacker. Then I get frustrated with myself for not doing anything, and the whole process starts over....

To be fair, that was because fans whined so much about the last one, and how they wanted it to be more like the first one. Vin listens to his fans, ya know, unlike most Hollywood types. All the things people hate about the new one were directly from popular fan complaints about Chronicles of Riddick. Every single one. A better example of "Quit yer whining" I have not seen. Especially considering it's #1 on the DVD charts, and sounds like it will get a 4th one. Hopefully the whiners will shut it and let the man work. We did, at least, get some character development of Riddick, that being the first time he's really been alone and betrayed. Same old situation, yes, but there were some nuances that do at least add some to the franchise.

never watched the Riddick movies. wanted to, just haven't. my movie life still consists of Disney type movies as of late. Now you wanna talk about Frozen or Teen Beach Movie, I'm your man! I do get to watch The Walking Dead at least so that helps with my virility.

Yep, quite often. Short of some quack prescribing me something to handle the mild signs of depression I just self medicate ;)

I do not (yet) know how to cut the glass and put a nice clean crowned edge on it. But yeah... that's pretty freakin' cool, eh? I'm thinkin' whiskey bottle necks for shots of whiskey...

wet sanding with silicon carbide...
Though heat will also do it. Chuck the other end into a vice and warm up the edge with a torch until it gets a little melty.

Frozen was cute. I'm still unsure how I feel about the type of realism that is used in animation. It isn't hyper-realism however it's getting WAY real with it. I miss the days of talking chipmunks, rabbits that thump feet, hippos that dance on ice.
