How good are the Henry lever action .22s?

good.
The basic model is a top value and also a decent gun. It's hard to love the painted non-steel receiver, but if it's not a loaner at a gun club it keeps very well. Hell, it keeps well even if it IS!
The Golden Boy is fantastic. In .22WMR it ought to have a scope, but that's kind of a contradiction... I'm torn there.

I'd rather have a Winchester 94/22 than a Henry Regular, but fortunately I don't have to pick just one. :D

We pretty much all agree that a LA deer-rifle is a must-have. It's the original assault rifle, when you think about it...

Am I the only one who thinks such a rifle should be dressed up with AAA-grade birdseye maple stocks? You gotta admit that would look freaking awesome... but that would cost almost as much as the gun itself... oh well, a man can dream...

I do think no well-rounded gun stockpile is complete without a wood-stocked LA .30-30. I don't want to get too fancy with it though since it'll be bumming around the woods.

I also need to get myself another .30-06 bolt gun in a wood stock. Keeping my eye out around town. Savage 110's are easy enough to come by but every shop in town seems to think that throwing a scope on a gun adds at least $100 to the price. I don't pay extra for scopes anymore. Half the time they're throw-aways anyway and you never know if they took any care at all mounting the thing.

Henry makes good stuff. I just wish they'd build their centerfire guns to load through the side instead of dropping rounds in the tube.

Just found this review of the henry .22. I only skimmed it but it's pretty positive.

I just saved 15% on my car insurance!

No... wait... I saved 65% on my hotel for Blade show. *Doing happy dance* I could get mushroom stamped right now and I'd still be grinning.

Well finally got the parts in and got my Sig P220 back together with Slim grips and an SRT kit. Fit the synthetic fore end on the H&R 12 and I'll drop it off next week to have the barrel shortened and a bead put on. My next project will probably be the Marlin 336w I picked up yesterday which won't involve much. Then I guess I'll just go down the line one by one and getting all my guns where I want them. At least the one's I've made my mind up on anyway.

I guess I'm a little confused. Why and how much do you intend to shorten it? Won't that affect the accuracy?

I've been going back and forth about getting another SKS. I've had a few and liked them, they're good rifles if you don't bubba them. I think I'm gonna go ahead and order one of the $300 Chinese guns from AIM. I can easily get my money back if I change my mind.

Talking to yourself eh WW? Could be worse I guess. :)
Could have been woken up at 4:45 by your dog for no good reason! He was just standing in the living room, howling his ass off.
I filled his food bowl, scratched his head, and he lay back down. Now I can't sleep!

Spent the last two nights working my ass off at my buddies shop, need to get me a new welding jacket, the one I have is so ratty and tore up that my arms have scabs all over them from slag getting through.......look like a freekin junkie. Been doing a ton of work out there, ran out a full argon bottle on his welder just working evenings last two weeks...........Tonight however, is MY shop night and Im excited. Murph comes over on Thursdays and if we get in sync we usually get a lot of stuff done. Got 10 knives heatreated Sunday that can go together but what Im most excited about is I got all of my materials in for a huge brassback bowie Im going to be making for Blade. With what I have in mind it has potential to be one of my finest pieces to date.

Morning, all. I get to take my blue heeler to the vet this a.m. cause of a bladder infection. Catching this one early cause I know the symptoms after the last one.... well house trained suddenly peeing in the house, less energy and moping around, acting out of sorts. Last time I was clueless and she suffered with it for a week while I was trying to "retrain" her.

Good to get her taken care of. That exact thing happened to my wifes cat. Just out of the blue he started to lose weight, and pissed all over the house, hardly would move from his perch or eat. wife took him in and they said the same thing, gave him a couple shot and he was back good as new.

Got home late last night, took a shower and hit the recliner for a few minutes before I hit the sack. My wife walks in the room and hands me a envelope and says "check this out" with a deviant grin on her face, I open it, I've been chosen for jury duty. I have to show up next Tuesday morning. I'm sure she expected me to be annoyed by it since she hated her experience with it. I just smiled and said, "cool dont have to go into work that day"
