Cf, thats some expensive walleye!! I suppose with all the money I've put into ice fishing equipment, it is costing me way more than that to eat a few filets. We have a restaurant here that has all you can eat walleye on Friday nights for like $12. I go there once in a while and chow down on it and its pretty good.

Dubz, it sure is!!

One of these days I'm going to find a school of perch and really have some fun, but for now, I'm fine with catching some good walleye to eat.

Walleye, blue gill, and crappie are my favs. Love some bass too.

When I was a kid I used to walk to the levee in a town we lived in and would fish for hours. I would catch bluegill, sunfish, and a couple different types of bass. I never did catch anything very big and don't remember what they all they tasted like, but it out the love of fishing in me that will be with me for the rest of my life. I'm not the greatest fisherman there is, but I generally do OK, and I always have fun.

If i get him i will probably do a contest to pick a name for the dog, best name (judged by the wife of course lol) will get a bk11 or something like that. I have been thinking of how to do my next contest/GAW and im not good at picking names for animals so this would be pretty cool.

But look how adorable this little guy is....

How good are the Henry lever action .22s?

good enough that after my cousin let me spend an afternoon shooting prairie dogs with one using .22 shorts, I went looking for one for myself.
every bit as nice as an older win 9422 for half the price. (at 75 yards a .22 short makes more noise hitting the p-dog than it did leaving the barrel)

I always fished as a kid. We would go to the local creek, or a nearby pond. Always had a great time, even when they weren't biting.

Hmmm. I've been thinking about getting a new .22.

Interesting...

plain jane round barrel all steel model can be found under $300.

OTOH, there's also the take down 10/22 -- I've seen it as low as $330 recently...

I went fishing when I was a kid a lot, too. Used to ride our bikes over to the creek, wade around in old tennis shoes and long tube socks (leech defense!) catching bait (crayfish and whatever) and then catch whatever we could: crappies, bluegills, pumpkinseeds, smallmouth....favorite was fishing for carp with superlight tackle, like 4-6 lb. mono and a 5' rod ('cause that's what we had). Rode our bikes home with 20 lbs. of carp (7 & 13 pounders) one day. Most important thing I learned was that fishing is just that....fishing. Lots of days we didn't catch anything, 'cept maybe bait :). But it was always fun.

Nice on the walleyes, AC. Those were rare to catch when I was a kid; I never caught one, though. We used to catch a lot of yellow perch fishing in and around the Finger Lakes when I was young; just read that they're population is in decline.

I just saw Curb Your Enthusiasm for the first time tonight....that was hilarious!

I always liked it too. Right before Christmas I was over at Todd's, I thought he was watching it. Turns out it was a movie called "Clear History" starring Larry David. It was pretty much "Curb Your Enthusiasm" the movie, worth a watch for sure.

Even though you called him a turd maker, at least you commented on him LMAO.

I guess im the only one who thinks he is an awesome looking pup. No matter, ill find out tomorrow if he is MINE. :) I had a friend who had an Akita years back, and i loved that dog. We cant have big dogs here, dont have the room even if we could... And akitas get BIG.... but these Shiba Inu's only get up to 25 pounds or so. And still have some of the same great features of the akitas. And this pup especially has some great markings IMO.

Seen him, want him, if nobody else has him yet, he will be becoming a part of this family this weekend. Just waiting on the "man of the house" to find out from his "boss/wife" if the puppy i want is still available. I left them a message and he called me back and thats how he put it lol, he said he knows the puppy i want is there, but he is not sure if someone already claimed it because the boss/wife handles the sales.

But for real if we get him ill start a thread for a contest/GAW to find a name for him. Even if that particular one is gone we MIGHT pick another one out of that litter, or we may wait for another litter/breeder. Im kind of picky deciding on a pet... Especially when im paying 6-800 on the puppy.. another 100-200 on a cage, collar and dog food to get it started, and another 350 on the pet deposit for the house im renting... Im going to get one I really want, one that i see and immediately just have to have.... like this one.

Hey Guyon can you post a pic of the Stanley cookset you got up?

Yay unlock!

I figure being at home all day with ma' lil' sickies would give me ample opportunity to engage in some snark.

I must respectfully disagree... The older Winchester 9422 XLR is one of the loveliest non-uber-premium .22 rifles ever made.
The Henry is an *excellent* budget version.
