Ken44 is welcome here on the CRK section just as much as anywhere else.

You talk about keeping things knife related then have the nerve to say that in the same breath? Atleast Ken contributes to this forum. You only pop up to beat a dead horse, your posts are fast becoming predictable, and are of no contribution.

Fan boys? THIS IS THE CRK FORUM, DO YOU NOT EXPECT US TO DEFEND CRK?

I think we, the customers, deserve some closure on all these issues.
And I guarantee this is bad for business, whether CRK cares or not.

Zatx, apply for a job at CRK and you can teach them to run their business like a "box store" instead of a mid-tech to custom business.

Wolf, you're howling too loud my friend. We "get it" you're mad at CRK - end of story! Go start a blog and you can berate his business model and products all you want without disturbing all of us who like the products and can take the good with the bad.

Sh*t happens, you sound like you've never had another man call you an idiot before. You're beating a dead horse here, it's time to take a deep breath and put your experience behind you.

I've had a nose to nose chat with Mr. Reeve too. He was right in my scenario and I was wrong. It took me to a while to understand his position but I'm over that and buying and enjoying his knives! :)

The agenda a few have against Chris needs to stop. If this room had outside Mod's this would not be going on. Threads would be locked quickly.

If he doesn't talk to you on the phone as nice as you would like, don't start your agenda against him. If you have a problem with anything he has to say, tell him right THEN like a man, but don't go on for months whining about CRK on BF every chance you get. It's getting very old, and you are not hurting his business as much as you think you are. You are only making yourself look like trolls.

If you get your feelings hurt that easy there are owners out there that will coddle you for your dollars. May be time for some of you to move along.

From an outsider looking in and from someone who has not yet spent over $150 on a knife and thus not owning a CRK knife, I do not see it as an agenda from anybody on here, but information I find valuable when making a $400 purchase. I do not want to buy a $400 knife knowing that if/when a problem arises, the company will treat me like crap and write me off. I think the few guys here have been treated wrongly and CRK won't own up to it. Hopefully an acceptable conclusion for all people involved happens of course. The real problem I have seen is from guys like you attacking CRK customers who are trying to get problems solved, and sharing bad experiences. Sure he is upset, I would be too, and I do not think he is beating a dead horse and certainly not trolling. Just my perspective, everyone has their own, but you look seem like the one with an agenda, and the problem.

You don't know the whole story, as many do not. I'm not going into it. My post you quoted should give you a clue.

I'm out. Have at it, and have fun.

If your gonna defend it atleast look it up. Set aside a good hour or two. Get yourself a notebook and tally everytime lockbar, chris reeve yelled at me, and he's ignorant pop up.

On that I'm out, I've got Sebenzas to enjoy.

Cziv I understand where your coming from but if an owner of any business yelled at you whether in person like your experience or on the phone like mine, I would hope you wouldn't just say it was OK.

He may of been right in your situation but no one has the right to yell at anyone they don't know and for any reason in that matter. Its just wrong!

I have no problem with people talking to me in a civilized manner and getting the point across but if someone has to yell and cuss at you to get a point across then the only point they are proving is that they themselves are ignorant. I really am not beating a dead horse here, I feel the people who are new to this discussion should be up to date, and lets be real they aren't going to read 12 pages, so I try to let everyone know in my posts.

I for one have read every word. Sure if was over the span of four days. When my eyes would start to cross, I'd put down the iPod and pick up my book, or just turn out the light and get some zzzz's.

Also read all of the lock bar post.

Has it stopped my from buying two Sebenza's in the meantime? No.

I make and modify knives all the time. If one of my Sebenza's came up lame, would I see that as a problem and be concerned about sending it back to Chris Reeve? Or would I see that as an opportunity to buy a carbonizer and try and repair the problem myself. I basically do that sort of thing because I don't like to be without my knives and have them sent off somewhere. I like to be self-sufficient. There is a certain feeling of satisfaction having repaired or tweaked a knife that makes it that much more special and a part of you.

Well this forum has pretty much turned to crap. All this negativity isnt good for the soul.
Think I'll be checking out and goin on over to the Hinderer side. A lot less trolls over there.

The only thing that all these recent threads have caused me to do was take my 2 1/2 year old Sebenza apart and look at the lockbar face. Oh look, it's good to go! Smiled and put it back together - the end.

To all that say I do not know the whole story, I have read the many threads, and followed the many links. I did spend about two and a half hours reading it all a while back and have kept tabs on this thread. Did I see it all, I do not know, but I have seen a lot to understand the dead horse comments, but am still put off by the berating of Wolf and blind following and acceptance that CRK is at no fault and anyone who disagrees is the idiot. Still optimistic to hear from CRK after Blade to hear a technical answer. If I were getting attacked, I would be "beating a dead horse" too to try to defend myself. Anyone can bash anyone on the internet, it is too easy, not being face-to-face, and I doubt the negativity would be as high if we were all together in a room talking it out.

wolf claimed he had a problem with his sebenza and tried getting it fixed. then tried selling it off because crk would not fix the abused knife. He failed to mention until later that he bought it used. He claims he trusts the person he bought it from, but again, it's still used from a random person he's never met. When i questioned him about if his sebenza was used or not, my question was dodged in multiple threads, but later replied to in a lengthy private message claiming that he trusts the person who sold it to him :/

CRK isn't at fault when considering people like wolf. To the people who bought brand new from authorized dealers, sure they have legit concerns. But if you don't bring up the issue when you first see it(or return it from the place you bought it from for a clear issue/concern), and complain about it a year later, that's your fault i'd say.

I'm out as well on this thread, until the ridiculous people are gone. Cheers

Like everyone, I have an opinion on this. And that is all it is of course, just my opinion.

I feel that people should be able to voice their concerns about a product, customer service, warranties and just about anything else as long as it is done honestly and with full disclosure of their part in it (for instance, was your knife previously owned? Was the knife subject to abnormal stresses?). Whether the parties involved here have done so, is impossible for me to know with certainty. But I do know that when things get to the point of name calling ("liar", "idiot") and finger pointing no one wins. Feelings (and pride!) are hurt, and reputations take a beating on both sides of the argument. I feel that CRK has been hurt by this discussion just because they are now down in the trenches slugging it out in public. CRK may be entirely in the right, but it doesn't really matter, because the fact that the discussion is taking place is just plain bad press.

And I have to say, that I was disappointed to see CRK say this:
.....we connect pseudonyms with the customers who send in their knives and are well aware of patterns that are not fully presented in the Forum discussions.
And I was further disappointed to see them go on to list three members who have complained of lock-bars issues, which CRK inferred were caused by abuse. What good was it to say these things? If they don't want to respond to each comment made (as CRK said in the first post), then don't respond to it. You shouldn't then just basically call these guys out.

Maybe CRK felt insulted and called out in previous threads by these three guys and was merely responding in kind. I certainly understand why CRK would feel like doing so. However, IMO, it is a mistake to take it personally. And I think it is a bad business decision to take things personally because when you speak for a company, what you say effects the company's reputation. It is heard and repeated (and possibly misunderstood) by all. It seems that in the knife community, these "discussions" take on a life of their own and live on and on and on. It never ends, and no one ever wins.

Instead, I would have liked to see CRK just post the results of their tests and say they did so in response to recent concerns. It seems to me that the results of those tests (so far at least) is certainly making their point for them. This, to me, would have been the higher road to take. And on the higher road is where this knife maker, Chris Reeve Knives, definitely belongs.
