A Spyderco is like a Glock!

From what I have read about Gaston Glock it seems he puts great stock in simplicity, both in terms of design (Glocks have less parts than competing design) and user interface. I think the only significant difference between current Glocks and the original is the light mount. There are variations in terms of different sizes and calibers, but few other changes.

This reminds me of the sebenza. I have never owned one, but it appears that they are little changed over the years--just variations on the same theme. I'm willing to bet that Reeve also puts great stock in simplicity.

W---Simpicity is good. That is why my next folder will be a friction-folder.
Good Post.

I think equating different brands of different products is silly but here is a cool picture of a couple of my favorites along with a favorite watch as well.

i like the fact that your knife and Sig both seem to have had some use Stretch! and they look good together!

It's a delusion, Tom. The Sig has about 12k rounds through it (from 1991 thru 1996), but the EnZo was just completed earlier this year!!! You could say I "forced" a little patina on both of them. ((( :D )))

Heck Unbreakable we got knives that cost more than their guns.

Then they're over priced. I mean I own knives worth more than some of my guns... but we're talking Busse Combat. Not Kershaw junk. There is nothing a Kershaw can do that a Spyderco or Benchmade can't do better.

I wouldn't compare the CRK designs to a Walther at all; while the P99S is an innovative little pistol, they don't put out a solid line as a company like Kimber does.

I don't know about that... Kimber's quality has been a little sucky lately. Two years ago I would have agreed that a Kimber was a fine weapon... some examples I've handled since are just terrible.

i actually was not just comparing quality level, but more in the way of design philosophy. The reason i compared kershaw to HK is more about the differnet curious design approaches, rolling block action of 91s and squeeze cocking p7s with kershaw's assisted opening and visual designs

I see what you're sayin... but I still can't compare a fine company like HK to Kershaw. Curious designs or not. The quality control and nature of the finished product are just worlds apart.

Stretch, Sweet SIG man. 12K rounds and I'm sure it's still functioning quite well no? I've only put 1,024 through my new 220. Absolutely no problems so far. Cant wait to get to 12K myself :)

Great post ,I thought most of the comparisons were dead on other then the HK-Kershaw but HK-ZT works a lot better I think?

Glock-Spyderco is perfect ,innovative and ugly. I love Spydercos but they certainly don't have the warm feel of a Case slippie.

If glock=spyderco XD=Byrd?

CZ-Rosarms? a bit of a reach maybe but they both make excellent quality slightly strange to our western sensibilities, weapons from former commie armouries.

I also love matched sets of guns and knives. I just bought my first revolver ,a antique top break S&W and I had to order a nice GEC scout 2 bladed slip joint folder with oiled cow bone to match. I also have a 100 year old Ross rifle bayonet made into a camp knife out getting some nice leather pants as part of the set.

I think guns and knives should match. One Spyderco that could fit with the right revolver is the Chinook. It is like a modern version of the old folding bowie so you would need a modern version of a gunfighters piece like a .44 Ruger Blackhawk.
That would be a nice set especially with some nice black leather.

Kershaw is made as well as Spyderco, or B/M these days and they have knives on the upper dollar scale as well as lower. Just as Spyderco and B/M does. Kershaw would have never gained such a following in a relatively short time if they hadn't upped their game, from some of the "cheap junk" they used to offer.
