A Thought On Posts In The Traditional Forum...

Hi - my name's Chris. Now put on your funny little shiny hats, 'cause I've got a story for ya'll. It's about this guy, see, and he flies this little black helicopter, see, and . . .

:D

thx - cpr - er, wait a minute, I mean Chris.

Hey y'all, I don't know if I should put my name up here, cause the way you pronounce it in Norway would quallify it for "pirate's cove" LOL...
Here it goes: I'm Simen and like to play with sharp, shiny objects......
Most of my friends from USA just call me Simon, it just sounds better to them, LOL:p

About the time I joined BF, I was working on a Co-Op installation (co-op is a supermarket chain in the U.K.). One of the other trades referred to us as the freezer geezers. I liked the way it rolled off the tongue, so I used it here and on a couple of other fora. Most fora I still frequent, I'm called Ratel10mm. My name is Matthew. No,I don't mind if you call me Matt.

Hello to all at bladefourms, traditional folders and fixed blades my name is Bob and this is one great place to hang out at.
Bob. :)

Hello Gentlemen, My name is Jason, I don't have many posts, but I'm trying to get more involved. This is a great forum and everytime I'm on here I like it more and more. Thanks for the education and all the great stories. Baker g2g it's my last name and g2g, I got that from the ARMY, when I was in the 1st Cav at Ft. Hood Tx. it means green 2 green = good to go !! Thanks again.

High my names Tibor, my friends call me Ted so please call me Ted, actually I'll answer to T, Ted or Tibor.

The rest is in my forum handle, nice to meetcha all,

I'm pretty sure most here know my name but as was mentioned in the beginning of this thread, I spend a good portion of my time here because of the great people here and the whole old time laid back, mutual respect attitude.

Thanks Rob, it was the first animated gif I ever did.

I like knowin' who I'm talkin' to, this is a great idea this is a more personable subforum and I can come here and relax without havein' to deal with the whacked out stuff in some of the other places.

People here are just more friendly and interact at a more adult level, doesn't matter what your age is, respect everyone here and you receive the same courtesy.

The Traditional's forum is more representative of the knife culture I grew up with.

.....They call me 8Ted, the 8 is silent.......

Kind of tough to figure mine out I know. I agree with the OP, it is nice to know the names behind the forum handles. Thanks guys.

I have to agree with Elliot on this topic.

I've signed my Christian name here every time I can recall too. I'm thinking its likely about 90% of the time I post in this forum, more or less.

Good call.

Many Blessings,
Anthony

Well, having known you for a few years now and as well as I do, I can safely say that most always...

Thanks to all who have posted here and the positive response.

We'll leave it up for a bit as a reference since not everyone remembers to add their names to replies in the forum (especially if they are unable to amend their signature due to membership level).

I usually sign with Doc. It is a term of endearment. I was not trying to be cryptic. My Christian name is Jeremiah.

Hi ya'll. Marty Ley here. I'm from Santa Fe, TX. I'm pretty new to knife collecting, and am enjoying it immensely. Glad I made it over here. I'm learning a lot reading the forums here.

My name is Max, which is short for Maxwell.

I am from Oregon and I currently live in Hawaii. I am young and I love knives, history, and traditional things. When I was very young, my dad showed me his knife collection. He had many knives all stacked and layered and thrown about in a cardboard box. That is when this great affliction was passed down to me. I was introduced to names like Schrade, Case, Victorinox, Wenger, and Mora. The knives all had stories behind them, some of which I can still remember today. In our culture, there is nothing cooler than being shown some guys old box full of knives. I am sure that many here can relate:D.

I like this traditional forum, because here -knives are about a little more than just cutting things.;)

Aloha,

Max

Well, it looks like I'm a bit late to this game. I really enjoy this site and the Traditional Forum is my favourite part. My name is Mike and I have changed my sig line to remind you folks. Thanks!

I first joined here under my real name as an ID Gus Kalanzis and still use it on occasions. Back in the old days of BFC Elliott and I moderated the Custom Forum. It became a pain in the bohunkus to both of us and after a few years we "retired". I still like custom knives of many types as well as the makers and collectors I get to spend face time with, but the forum atmosphere at times became caustic and that was a contradiction to the experiences I had in person.

Blues and I wandered about the forums for a while like lost dogs and then this place came to be. Not sure how but Spark asked me to mod it. Pretty soon it was obvious that an atmosphere was being fostered here that reflected the same type of atmosphere that I would experience in person with knife folks. That atmosphere was fostered by the members here. It has been a great ride and it keeps getting better.

Bastid came about as an enigma term that got coined in a chat room frequented by a bunch of knife friends (makers and collectors) about a decade ago.

Gus is much too modest to take the credit he deserves but it is his depth of character that accounts for much of why this and other forums so closely reflect values which he himself epitomizes.

I've been very lucky to call him a friend and brother for many years now. I can't think of anyone I'd rather work or be associated with.:thumbup:
