Photos A Walk in Nature

I didn't want to be too negative. 🥶 I saw Esperanza there and I was hoping it would be pulled away before a crash. Glad it came through undamaged.
The branches stayed right along the fence? No damage except for debris clean up? Might your pursuade your neighbor NOW to clear the remaining overhanging branches from over your property line?

Good luck with restoring power soon. Take care doing clean up, there are some things that can bite you in that pile. Early to bed tonight, I guess. ;)

I just dropped my daughter at her job as pianist for a local church.

I am waiting by the St Lawrence river, a short distance away from the church.

It doesn’t look like a good day for sailing ⛵☺️

Yes, and a very healthy one ! Very rich in antioxidants. Diana is been having a bit of cough the past few days so I brew it with some ginger too and give it to her with some honey and she loves it :)

No heralds trumpeting any such good news around here ... yet :)
Thanks for giving me hope mi amigo

LOL, wait until the white Trillium flowers start blooming in the forests and you will see them spam this thread as they have in years past ha ha :D
In fact , here is an early spam and for HOPE of things to come :)

Diana had her IV treatment today. Two more to go !

She has been dealing with low white blood cell counts for the past year as these infusions take a big toll on her immune system.
At one point a few weeks ago her neutrophils went down as far as 0.6 but fortunately they bounced back to the minimum threshold in time for the next treatment.

Trying to boost her white blood cells we introduce more omega 3 ( salmon, trout ) added some B12 supplement etc.

About 3 weeks ago we started drinking chaga every day. Back then her neutrophils were at 1.7 ( a little below normal)
Today's blood work revealed a MAJOR increase at 4.3

I am hesitant to make a direct correlation between chaga and her much improved blood work ... however ... ( the nurse even asked her if she had made any changes to her diet )

Searching "Chaga" and "white blood cells" "immunologic system" brings just too many results, some from credible medical institutions indicating chaga is indeed very beneficial to build up your immunity among a host of other benefits.

Bottom line ... we are not about to stop drinking it :)

More winning pics Dan, I love your new knife, and how much you clearly treasure it :) Does your neighbour know you're a Gaucho?! 🤨;)

Thanks Dan, I hope you can visit one day!

I've visited many beautiful places around Bradford. It was in '79 and i can't remember their names. The two most beautiful areas i've visited in England are the Cornwall and the Yorkshire. At that time i could walk 20 miles in a day whatever the weather. It won't be said that i've wasted my youth!

Dan.

My week in Yorkshire
Enjoyed the photos Jack
So nice to see spring in full swing and everything coming alive !
It's starting to happen here too, this coming week will be a very nice one with temps in the double digits ( above zero that is :) )
Time to take the tarp off Serena :)

Lovely photo my friend :) Esperanza will be sitting a little higher in the water I think this year Dan! :D :)
I am listening "Whistling the Esperanza" and my daughter just asked me what is the accent in the song.
She is wondering if it's "Gaelic"
I told her I better ask :)

Thank you Dan, Spring has come very suddenly here, as it did the previous 2 years, I have gone from wearing a pullover, and a coat, to shirt sleeves :) Hope you have a wonderful year my friend :)

That is my mate Ewan, who is from Leith in Scotland :) I do like a Scottish accent, and it allows all sorts of unlikely rhyming, such as 'home' ('hame') with 'Spain', as in this old Ewan MacColl ballad :)

Yes indeed, all his fasting and discipline has paid off. 🥳 More kilometers to the liter this year. :)

Cheers everyone!

Very nice Ray  :)
You had me looking up and reading about Saami puukkos
Is this one of your handling/sheats projects ?

Beautiful 🎶 !
There is a huge Scottish influence on our area.
A small town very close to us hosts the "Glengarry Highland Games" every year. It is one of the biggest festivals in North America celebrating Scottish culture

I'm glad you enjoyed it Dan, I'll refrain from posting anymore links! :D Yes, HUGE amount of Scottish emigration to Canada before, during, and after the Highland Clearances. As you know my friend, all emigrants miss their homelands, or at least some aspects of them, but in this case, I doubt many of their descendants have any great cause for regret. Thanks for the link Dan, I regularly post video-links to Scots-Canadian pipers when I carry my Bagpipe Ebony Lambsfoot :)

No Dan, this one is an authentic SAAMI made puukko - likely from the 70s. The sheath and handle are carved and stained reindeer antler. The white "bolster" section on the knife handle is one sided, i.e., only the face is white - the back section is stained as is the rest of the handle.. Apparently the maker masked off the area when staining, leaving it white as a nice counterpoint detail.

LOL guys  😁

I've managed to lose 100 plus pounds since the summer of 2018.

I initially lost some weight back in 2018 and then plateaued for a long time.
Since starting again in January 2022 I lost another 70 pounds.
