Photos A Walk in Nature

LOL guys  😁

I've managed to lose 100 plus pounds since the summer of 2018.

I initially lost some weight back in 2018 and then plateaued for a long time.
Since starting again in January 2022 I lost another 70 pounds.

Congratulations sir. Any sustained weight loss is an accomplishment but 100 pounds is a major accomplishment

Well done Dan you're half the man you were

Congratulations on the weight loss. A huge accomplishment.

Thank you guys  !

I shared this as a way to motivate me even more not to let my guard down.
Now is the crucial period were so much progress could be lost.

I do feel so much better now  !
I am off all my meds ( blood pressure, cholesterol and prediabetes ) and feel much more energized.
Also that so called "mental fog" is much improved. This in turn has helped in dealing with the difficult times we have experienced this past year.

Little getaway this past Thursday and Friday.Took a trip down to southern Illinois.

Beautiful vistas and rock formations !
The phrase " In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks " caught my eye
Nice getaway, smiles all around and quality time spent with your loved ones :)

Found a down tree with some good sections of birch bark, suitable for a few puukko handles.

I left my foot in the photo so you can all see this tree is fallen to the ground. The ground under the section is a good clue too! :)

Peeled off easily. Will make some nice handles.

Good few hours in the woods.

I love the last picture Ray 👍
The stag, the colours, the reds on the handle and the bark 😍

Can’t wait to see the beautifully dressed puukkos that will result from that bark 😎

Thanks Dan - was a serendipitous juxtaposition :) Hey - you used to have a birch bark handled puukko didn't you? ;)
As for seeing my next edition - that will wait a while. Making sheaths these days. Quite a challenge to get those right and looking good. ☹️
