We’ve vacationed in Michigan four times and always had a great time, it’s a beautiful state.

Last week I noticed a little homestead pottery shop on the way to one of my walks.
So I ordered a coffee Mug to my specs from the lady potter.
It had to be able to take a one shot filter and a bright colour as coffee tastes sweeter in a red or orange mug.
I ordered a bowl for breakfast cereal at the same time,I picked them up on the way past.

Try it you will see,red spectrum works best for me,coffee definitely tastes better.


Red and Blue
You can get more sweetness out of your coffee when you are drinking from a blue or red mug. These colours are often associated with sweet fruits, and it is possible that the brain translates that association into sweetness when you are drinking the coffee. This is the best way to enjoy coffee as you are drinking it though the day.



Anyway I carried on driving to my walk start point and decided to christen the mug out in the field,so dropped it in my rucksack

It was a strange dull day I didnt see one person.
There where a lot of big black crows cawing amongst the wiry dark trees, it felt a bit spooky.

I found a maze but thankfully found my way out.

I also found the wall put up on a slope to stop slippage quite interesting,most people dont spot the details but I walk so slow its like walking in TV slo mo and I have time to observe.

This new instant coffee I was trying wasnt to bad but it needed a bit more of a coffee hit,still it hit the spot.

All of a sudden it was 15.30 and going dark,I decided to carry on the full route rather than a short cut back to my car.

It got even more spookier, thankfully I spotted this camouflage tree before I walked into it (it reminded me of trees on the Med around Nice/south coast I had seen before).

Billy Barlow was with me along with the smallest SAK with a saw,I didnt need either.

I hope whatever you did today you saw something in nature or had the sun on your face.

Yes on both counts... saw a bit of nature and had some sun on my face.

It is a Walker. Though I confess to seeing your post before making my selection today.
I often carry a Walker with a small fixed blade. Your choice makes sense and I didn't have to wear anything on my hip.
I told you, "you're an inspiration".

I did not get to see much of nature or had the sun on my face today , just too stressed out with work on this crazy hectic Monday however it was nice to get a glimpse of it as seen and experienced by our Porch friends.

PS: I'll get me a red mug for sure now
