Photos A Walk in Nature

I could have saved £500! :D Thank you very much James :)
Jury is still out Jack, have to wait to see the new camera's pics.;) Hope they're gorgeous!🤞

A Llama as a social distancing measure is genius as England is packed with them and we have all seen one.🧐

Looks like a wonderful outing Johnny.
Lots of wildlife, interesting marine vessels, balmy temps, thanks for taking us along.
You know what we say in the States, "A llama is better than a sharp two metre pole!" ;)
Have a good week mate! :)

Today it was back to basics when it come to my knife choice.
I love my walnut ss opinel #6. I bought it 5 years ago. It was my third or fourth traditional knife purchase.
For my knife needs I could have stopped right there and would not have needed anything else really.

I got out once this morning with my son but did not get any pictures. Around noon i went out by myself for a walk on a new trail. First walk it was around 9 deg f and the noon time it warmed up to 18 deg f. The sun was great and there was no wind so it was quite comfortable. But the hose on my water pack froze up. 20220116_132736_copy_756x1008.jpg20220116_132836_copy_756x1008.jpg20220116_135342_copy_756x1008.jpg

I had to Google five words in this post. When are you damned English going to learn to speak English? :D

What kind of knife is this? I can't make out what it says.

There is a clue there its called English, dont worry I have to look up some Scottish words and even some regional words.

Here is a Scottish word/meaning I learnt quite quickly in the Army it nearly led to a fight when I was asked to "get me a PIECE from the cookhouse"see if you can work that one out?

Farm and Field sodbuster 01 tool steel one of my first GEC.

At one stage I was going to take the orange one for the woods but figured I've not used this one for a while.

Read this as if from a grumpy fan of Victor Meldrew (me).

Not a long walk thought I did take the muddiest and most difficult route dodging mad cows and stray 5.56 (though I am of the 7.62 era myself).😆

This area is now beset with noisy people who have found a like of the outdoors since lockdown, yet do not appreciate it as I do and see very little as wildlife retreats from them.

I am often surrounded by birds here (when alone) who If you are quiet and patient will tolerate you getting a little closer even though they are not domestic.

My aim was to try out my new Nikon S/H lens using my oldest Nikon DSLR, sorry but I have a disdain for Canon users as they seem of a type to me.😂

Though still frozen and ice on the ground in parts it wasn't cold where I set up for a few hours.

Those are amazing pictures. I could never take a picture of a robin like that for a number of reasons: I don’t have the skill, I don’t have the patience, I don’t have the equipment, but most of all because the American Robin is an entirely different type of bird…

I took a nice little break from my paperwork to learn more about the differences between the two species.
Very cool :thumbsup::cool:

I would not know if this video is totally accurate but I watched it with interest ,

Why did you remove your post? I thought it was good. I hope it wasn’t because I joked about the typo. Anyway, having done so, I can be pretty sure the next typo here will be mine.

No worries, Tom. Upon reflection, I became concerned that my well-meaning but jocular posts might be misinterpreted as showing disrespect for this thread, for our posters here and for the terrific images that they have generously shared with us. The thread has a strong momentum without my kidding around all the time, and I would not want to spoil that. I'll try to be more of an observer, which will be a pleasure for me.
