Ah-oooooh! The Coyotes are here!

I was thrilled to receive a small package from Paul PMEW today, containing this Tidioute Coyote in osage! :) :) :)

Many thanks Paul, you're very kind. The Coyote went straight in my pocket, and I'll carry it on my birthday tomorrow :)

Along with Paul's package, I also received the first issue of the subscription to Blade I won in Randy's generous Christmas Eve giveaway. Thanks again Randy :)

Glad it arrived safe, Jack. It's good to know it's gone to someone who'll carry and use it!

I'll stick to my 25s I think :)

Edit: posting with remote Portuguese hotel wifi - that took for ever to do!

Thanks again Paul, hope you're having a great time, I didn't expect you to be checking in :)

I finished my books already so I'm just checking in whilst Rory naps :)

I imagine Rory is wondering what that yellow ball in the sky is! :D I bet he is loving it :)

I got my 18 in camo acrylic over the weekend and it is a great little knife.
It's super easy to carry in the watch pocket and I love how it is thinner than my peanut and baby doc.

GEC really does a great job on these knives.

My mite arrived yesterday. First-rate finish on the Northfield. Not out of place in one book of 'Gulliver's Travels' though....

Is the blade width = or < 1/2 inch at it's widest point?

Just curious, this knife size looks like it's okay for USA flights - but I don't have one in hand to check the blade width.

Sorry, but that change in the laws got shot down. No knives allowed on US flights, even SAK classics.

On topic knife pics:

My OD green micarta Coyote arrived today. My first GEC knife! I prefer the fuller single blade look to that of my Case Peanut. The Coyote certainly feels like a quality product. Thinking of a #25 easy open next. If I could find a Viper I like I would be in for that as well.

I received my #18 in natural stag today and it has a serial number. None of the others do nor do the ones made in plain old "stag".

What is GEC's policy on serial numbers?

BTW, the natural stag is really nice.

Also, none of the few I have purchased have the certificate of authenticity I used to get with GEC knives. Have they given up on that?

As far as I know , All of the Natural Stags have a serial number and they are the only ones that do. I think that only Proto-types will have a Certificate of Authenticity. My Natural Stag has a Serial Number and my Coyote in Sangria Proto-type has the COA .

Alright, the family and I finally made it back from visiting extended family in Seattle for Easter. Waiting for me when I returned home was my JSR Wyandot Frontier SFO in Oily Creek bone.
I like it - it's kind of like a highly polished Pioneer Bone.

I have to say, the entire run of #18 Coyotes was below my radar at first. It wasn't until after they were already out that my interest was sparked; and that was only after I picked one up on a whim.
Unfortunately for my wallet, that first one set the hook good and firm; they are addictive little things.

Now I'm running with a 'pack' and wondering how many Beagles I'm going to be able to afford to add...

Coyotes are naturally shy creatures:

Deep gratitude to Paul/pmew for sending this my way - one of the (many) good people here! Here it is emboldened by the company of its brother prior to it's transatlantic voyage:
