I Went to the doc and as soon as he looked at it hes like you have lyme. And i was like no $h!t. Im on antibiotics something called techtro something. He said it should be cleared up in 2 weeks. And im going on vacation in the next two weeks. So homany of you guys have had lyme

never had it as far as i know but i carry antibiotics in my FAK in case i'm out in the field and believe i've been infected and don't have access to a doctor for several days.

That sucks, I have never had it either. Since you caught it early you should be OK, just take your meds and take it easy.

Sorry to hear about your Lyme disease. One of my daughters had it a few years ago (confirmed by blood test). Antibiotics cleared it up in a short time and she seemed to have no residual issues. The faster you get in for treatment, the better.

Get well soon!

This is totally anecdotal information from someone not trained in medicine.

I believe I had Lyme disease, but was not correctly diagnosed. It was only later, after reading the symptoms online, that I realized this. I had a circular rash around a tic bite, then flulike symptoms: fever, joint pain, and headache.

I thought it was the flu, and stayed home for three days, feeling miserable and getting little sleep. I was unaware of it, but during that time I became severly dehydrated. I believe this contributed to my longer-than-usual recovery time of almost a month.

I was hospitalized and got rehydrated and lots of antibiotics intravenously. It took two or three "experiments" with antibiotics before they found one that started working to relieve the symptoms. Sorry, but I don't recall what it was called.

Sorry man, here's hoping you caught it early!

That stuff is just widespread up there, isn't it? I was looking at a map of lyme disease occurence and thankfully it is almost absent here.

Yeah CT is pretty popular place for ticks! I pull the larger dog ticks off myself and my dog pretty frequently:thumbdn: I have been lucky I guess with the deer ticks though.

Two of my neighbors have been diagnosed with lime in the past 3 weeks and they don't go out deep in the woods at all.

Sorry to hear that man. Looks like you caugt it early though.

Anyone hear how preacherman is doin?

Sorry to hear it Bob. Now it's time to rest, let the meds work and take care of yourself! -Matt-

I had lyme earlier this year, caught it early like you did and I seem to be ok..My buddy had it for like 2 years before he caught it...He seems to be fine as well.

Darn ticks. I always load up with Cutters or Deep Woods Off before I head out, and keep some with me when I'm in the woods.

My mom caught lymes disease a couple of years back, and I caught Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever a number of years before that.

Lesson learned.

let me tell you though...some people it takes years to show up, other it's right away..there's a doctor i know that's writing a book, and there's a movie that's coming out soon that was accepted into sundance...my mom had it for 20 years we think, and she just found out recently...what's weird is that her and mine's showed up around the same time...it took me 22 years of my life before it popped up...i dont care what ANY doctor says, YOU CAN GET LYME FROM YOUR MOTHER'S BREASTMILK...im not the only person wo's contacted it that way

He said yesterday that it's looking like his whole family has lyme's.

god, thats terrible...lyme is so much more common than people think....it's just that the CDC and many doctors refude to believe that there's such thing as chronic lyme, and most doctors don't know much about it anyways...when i first told my doctor I thought i had lyme he was a real ass...i was explaining my symtoms to him and in the middle of me talking he justed walked out...he then came in with some bs papers saying Lyme tests SHOULDN'T be ordered, and that how if you have a test that says negative, then it's negative and if you have a test that's positive that it's a false positive.????????? that's crazy...also lyme is a CLINICAL disease and tests are done to just back up the symptoms....it's a horrible disease...it mimics many other diseases...it suks, plain and simple and I jope that the movie makes it to many theatres so people can see the seriousness of chronic lyme...IT EXISTS!
