Albers Cutlery Company

I would like to "pile on" by stating that I would love to see an Albers lambsfoot.... I would actually try to wade through a lolly-scramble to get one of those..
Absolutely! I would as well. Just throwing this out there, some type of system for ordering would be great. I wouldn’t care how long I had to wait for it to arrive. The waiting is NOT the hardest part (Tom Petty reference intended😊). The most frustrating part is seeing these handmade high quality beautiful artistic pieces of American made cutlery, and knowing you have a better chance of being struck by lightning twice in the same spot as scoring one of these on a drop. 😊

Boy you guys are quite lucky.... being a Canadian, I await the day I may be able to procure one of these masterpieces  :thumbsup:

Mawvellous work there Eric, fixed or folder... just plain awesome!!

The thrill of the hunt is half the fun. That said, a lambsfoot would be fantastic and hard to snag.

Kicking around the idea of a lambsfoot (although they seem to be popping up everywhere now)

I will echo some other sentiments here - you couldn't go wrong with a Lambsfoot should you decide to take the plunge. Though I don't think there is much you could make that won't be a hot seller, I certainly don't think you will have any trouble selling these.

There are precious few manufacturers of the Lambsfoot and aside from SFOs (Jack's, Charlie's, and potentially Mike's), there are none currently that can match your production standards. Should you choose to embark on your own version of this pattern, I will be watching with great interest.

I’m excited to know a spear point variation is in the works for current folder.

Fox79 The parts are moving along slowly but surely. I'm presently working on the last 30 fixed blade knives, and once they're done I can start working on the folder parts in earnest. I've already got everything cut for the single blade folders, next step is nail marks and tang stamps. I'll start prepping the small folder blades once I have the clips headed for heat treat. I plan on doing a couple of initial runs of single blades and then switch over to two blades afterward. I'd give it another couple of months before they start rolling out. BTW the secondary blades will be pen blades. Might as well start out full-on traditional.

I want to start developing a new pattern too but I'm totally undecided as to what. Kicking around the idea of a lambsfoot (although they seem to be popping up everywhere now), or maybe a trapper style clip blade/wharrncliffe style. I have to think on it a bit more. There's a LOT of prep involved so whatever I go for has to be a versatile enough pattern that I can switch out blade styles while still making it a legit pattern.

Also considering jacking up the present jack to about 3 5/8". Lots of ideas going through my head LOL.

Viper nice pics!!

Eric

Thanks! A lambsfoot or a wharncliffe swayback would be awesome.

Well said!

No I believe my Inbox is empty with the exception of one message. I'm definitely not ruling the lambsfoot out, in fact it's still #1 on my list. That particular handle shape lends itself to a lot of other variations too.

Ernie I've already got a spear drawn up for the present knife. :)

Eric

Holy cow...

I think and Alber’s Lambs foot would be the knife that breaks the internet. Buy LOTS of material, lol. Maybe you can get a discount for buying in bulk. I think they’d be sold out in an instant no matter how many you make.
