Got exactly the same Tidioute 56 in that Amber Bone. I think it's a really outstanding colour, and the knife's alright too...

Thank you Duncan. I thought about what to write but then remembered this thread that introduced or, more accurately, re-introduced the brand JBF Champlin & Sons. The #85 Jacks were made by GEC and are the first knives released. I believe Mike and Derek are working on another old pattern but don't have much info on it yet.

This was my post when I received the knives. I hope no one minds me quoting myself but I figured everyone likes pics...
I received my pair in the mail yesterday. Both serial #10. The all steel construction looks great especially on the ebony. The etching isn't like the normal etching, these you can feel like they've been stamped in the blade. I know GEC's done that with some NF's before but these are the first I have with that done. I also like that the serial number is on the pile side of the knife instead of the mark side.

Thank you Trand, yes, you can see the GEC there, how I missed that Thread? I just done know :o
I like the fact that the etching feels almost as though it was stamped-I am a fan of ( good taste ) blade etching/stamping, and I think the detail down to the little scroll under the "WARRANTED" looks real nice. Only 50 knives!...wow, you have got a special pair of knives there.
Thank you once again Trand, enjoyable viewing that's for sure.
Duncan

Thanks again. I believe it was confirmed after I posted that that they are stamped. Like a few of the all steel knives GEC has made.

Again Trand? Fine by me.

I was fortunate enough to receive these two in a trade with Paul back in October.

I tend to agree, though I passed over that color when the 56 spears first hit the scene. Funny how seeing it posted here in a really, really good photo makes you give a knife another look. Same or similar scenario has played out many times for me.

It is a very nice colour and it has quite interesting jigging too. I'd advise you to pick one up when you get the chance. A sturdy knife as well.

Thanks, Will

That new home I am sure will make that lovely knife feel most welcomed !

Oh yes....that Rotten Jack will be well cared for! Thanks to Doug for setting this one loose. Hearing the theme to Born Free.....as I give away my demographic.... Age anyway...

Bringing this one back up to post some recent arrivals. Hope you are enjoying the 66 Peter!
