Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread. Got this Sperry & Alexander jack in the mail a few days ago so I thought I would throw it in here as well.

Looks like it was made by Schrade, Mike. Nice knife. I like sheepfoot jacks especially. Combined with a good pen blade, the sheepfoot makes it a nice useful knife.

Guys...this thread is awesome!!... as most threads are in the Traditional.
Seeing these threads, the knives that everyone has great pleasure in showing-it blows me away to be honest...here in New Zealand we are sheltered from the history of older contries..such as U.S.A, England etc... so therefore the older knives just dont have the depth here :(
The odd find comes up, other than that...but these threads are just fantastic...a real eye opener :thumbup: :thumbup:

Andy!!...great knives there, although all those knives look great-the sixth one up from the bottom( middle row)... would like to see a bit more of that-with its brother next to it with the same coloured bone.
 
Corey, nice pair of EOs! I like the Remington "radio" knife especially.
I used to motorcycle through New York State where Endicott-Johnson shoes were made!
Duncan, I used to think I was isolated from the knife community here in western Canada. I empathize with your situation WAYYYYY down in NZ!!

You know, I don't even have a jackknife to my name unless you can call those two blade Silver Knights I have jackknives. Main drop point blade and small sheepsfoot on the other end. Or stretch the definition to include the trapper pattern. I guess I need to get me a proper jackknife of some description. Maybe a Case Texas Jack or a GEC harness jack or something similar.

This Camillus is a little different with it's DOJ seal inlet into the scale...date would put this in the WWII era

This tiny jack is a favorite, never have figured out the maker but it is very well made and that extreme clip....wow...

This Schmidt and Sohn in horn is just classic...this is the type knife Mac would have used I do believe...

I don't have anything I feel justified in posting in this thread so I decided to do something about it and ordered a Case swayback jack in Chestnut CV. I'll drop a picture in here when it gets here.

Rather than flood this thread with pictures of Harness Jacks that have mostly been posted before, I thought I'd pic the occasional one with some special features.
Iroquois brand, I think by Utica Cutlery.
It is almost cartoonish-looking, but is a well made, serious knife!!
