All in on jacks

A "jack" will have one or more blades on the same end. None on the opposite end. It is the simplest form of a folding pocket knife. This one would be a 3 blade serpentine jack. Serpentine is the description of the frame/handle.

This one is very obscure. A Corsican Military survival knife. It has everything you need to be happy, right where you are!

I take it the mouth harp is not part of the knife...lol. However...is that an absinthe spoon attached to that knife? That is what it looks to be to me.

Little Utica dogleg with some of the oddest colored bone I have ever seen on a older knife.

Here's an old one! Allen Cutlery Co Newburgh NY. Company only in business between 1917-1925.

Sleek & Slim single blade Eureka Jack.

I like that one a lot, Greg and have never seen one before.

When I asked Rick Menefee to make me a single blade Eureka with a modified wharncliffe blade I thought I had really come up with something. :p

You know, I don't even have a jackknife to my name unless you can call those two blade Silver Knights I have jackknives. Main drop point blade and small sheepsfoot on the other end. Or stretch the definition to include the trapper pattern. I guess I need to get me a proper jackknife of some description. Maybe a Case Texas Jack or a GEC harness jack or something similar.

I've spent a little time going back through this excellent (and dangerous) thread and realize, based on definitions posted, that I did indeed have a couple of "jack knives", a Wharncliffe Copperhead, and my Mutz single blade canoe fit the definition.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, (a case can be made either way here), I did not read that definition before this thread tempted me into purchasing a beautiful new chestnut CV sway back Case.

I must say I am impressed with fit and finish on this little knife and both blades are shaving sharp out of the box. All the praise heaped on this Case pattern sure seem well deserved to me. I'm glad I didn't read the jack knife definition before I ordered it. Here are my three "jack knives".

The new Case. The picture is pretty shabby and does not do this little wonder justice.

Thanks Wag. Sometimes the background in a image that is close to the same color as the scales will draw your attention closer to them. Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.

Harness Jack knives are so !. Don't you think so?..
You Betcha !!
