So is the knife pictured on the Busse website satin or big finish since to me they all 3 look like the same pic thanks?

I got swamp fever, had 4 in the cart, have to settle down, think, I need to sleep on whether I need to get 4 of these or a wtbfm or a moabolo, I don’t think these will be gone tonight.

So is the picture the satin finish then?

If you go to the website, each version has its own picture, although the BIG and the Satin look pretty much the same in the pictures. Also, if you go back to the first post in this thread, additional pictures were added (all labeled) showing both Satin and BIG.

Hell but there all the same pic are they John? Just one is zoomed in a bit. Look at the knot on the board in the coil area of the blade.

They're positioned the same on the same board, but the Satin one says INFI on the blade and the BIG one says SR-77.

That's a great catch thank you John! The BIG looks so nice I was switching back and forth between pics and could not tell the difference in the finishes to my eyes anyways. I cant see any tool marks in the BIG pic at all!

So, SR77 is that much tougher than INFI?
Please don' get me wrong, I'm genuinely curious.
I thought INFI was the best period. In all categories.

No it's not tougher in my experience. Both steels are designed for heavy use. The difference is that SR77 mashes even more than INFI. My INFI blades edges have resisted damage better than SR77 but neither chipped. I do believe SR77 is way more flexible which goes well with the fact that the edge mashes easier. Which is tougher? no one knows. As no one has compared charpy data for these two steels with Busse's heat treat. But I don't think you ever need to worry about either. I would bet toughness is close, but edge holding and corrosion resistance will favor INFI

At .22 i'm wondering if it has his place between my Chophouse lean cut and my upcoming FBM and HOGB8

I just ordered a BIG INFI MMD with maroon canvas ... the FFG and thinner stock makes this really appealing (even though i already have the original MMD)
