Thanks for posting to this thread, Kiah. I don't know how you landed this gig with Guy, but keep up the good work

I got brought in on the initial small runs and it just kinda stuck. They'll eventually be moving in-house or some other option when they can to meet demand better.

This was the jimpless version in 3V. On 12-11-13 when I ordered it, I thought that they were made and ready to ship upon order. Guess I was mistaken. It is Friday and I have no email notification that the 10 I ordered in April 2012 has shipped either. I guess everything will have to wait until after the show. I hope I have a surprise next week, but I am not holding my breath. Thank you immensely Kiah for the updates on this thread. I really do love your work.

Thank you.

SHOT isn't next week, is it? Thought there was one more week left

There is. They won't be leaving until after next week.

Yea, SHOT is the week of the 14th. Perhaps there is still hope for a knife next week. My bad.

Guy posted updates on his news feed... Those who were hoping to get there GSO-3.5's anytime soon will be waiting. Survive knives expects them out now sometime in early February, which if history is any indicator, means they should start shipping late March or April. Sure hope I'm wrong on that but considering what they have done to the people who ordered GSO-10's, getting their product out in any kind of realistic time-frame is impossible for them.

I ordered my jimpless 4.1 on 12-11. No sight of it yet.

Any sign of yours yet? I just got a shipping notification today and the only order I have outstanding is the second jimpless 4.1 that I ordered on the 24th.

Camo micarta, black sheath. If you haven't, what handle scales/sheath did you pick?

No notification yet. I think I ordered Camo with green sheath, but I think that I added a bow divot and a ferro notch. This may be part of the delay. What day did you order the first 4.1?

12/7

That one had a ferro notch, the one that shipped today does not. Neither have bow drill divots.

Maybe the sheath is the difference. Might be out of green?

I saw on bushcraftusa that some others got shipping notifications today, so it still could be this week for ya.

Thanks for the update. I hope you are right.

I was seriously considering ordering a GSO 4.1 until I stumbled upon this thread. I remember seeing a lot of people having similar experiences with Red Scorpion, and it didn't end well for them. I hope Guy gets his act together and realizes that the businesses that last do so because they have a great product AND great customer service. It was disturbing to see him promoting products but not communicating with his customers. Hopefully this all gets worked out and all the customers who have paid for a knife receive it and are well pleased.

I think it is safe to say that we all have a similar hope for Guy and Survive. I am well pleased with the examples I own. The problems have been beaten to death in this thread. It is my hope that it all can be chalked up to growing pains, and that Guy will address everything.

I certainly hope the issues are addressed, and the more people that bring up their concerns, the better. Maybe it will light a fire under things.

Its the General Forum, and people raising their concerns is not beating anything to death.

By the way, I have never figured out how to attach pictures other than a URL from a hosting site. Is this the only way to do it?

upload your pic to photbucket or flikr etc
click on direct link to copy the URL
click on insert image
choose from URL
paste the link
hit ok

FYI, I just received an email update from Survive surrounding the GSO 10. Sounds like he is getting close. He described some of the production problems that he has had. This information is also posted on his website in the news section.

I want to say how much that I appreciate this update, and I congratulate Guy for doing it.

FYI there are some factory 2nd GSO 10's up on the site. Looks like a few custom 4.1's as well.

I hope that he gets his pre-orders shipped out before he ships the seconds. I don't want to hear that he has run out of scales or sheaths, and we have yet another delay.

Guy said on his FB page that the preorder GSO-10s won't be numbered as he had already released the 200 numbered knives in his first preorder for the GSO-10. Kind of a bummer. I could've sworn that I read somewhere that these were supposed to be numbered as well.

You probably did

Huh... I was in on the first GSO-10 pre-order and the knives were NOT numbered... Here is one of them:

Logo, PHT & steel, flag on the pommel, but no other number... on any of the 3 I had. Great knife, btw.
