Here are my two current Survives. I'm messing with the EDC for a scout carry set up, support side draw(I'm a lefty).

Both came push cut reciept paper sharp. The EDC is still relatively unused but I've limbed a few trees with the 5.1 and you'd never know.

For size reference that's a Grayman Dua by the EDC, a Grayman Satu by the 5.1 and a Sig P229R by both.

What is the blade thickness of the 5.1?

The GSO-5.1 is .188"(3/16'). The EDC-4/GSO-4.1 is .156"(5/32").

Nice photos, Ceptor. I love to see my knives in the good company of firearms. ;) Also, that one folder is just HUGE! Damn!

Not wild about the trigger, DAK(no choice), but it is not a bad weapon. Yeah, the SATU is a beast! The angle of the picture might be playing tricks though, I'll double check. Hope your planned folder is it's equal or better. Can't wait to get the current orders in hand and see what else you have planned.

Love the looks of the 5.1, maybe Santa will leave me one under the tree.......and can resist taking off a few of its limbs!

For you guys who like something a bit more "dressy", I'll be offering some custom GSO-5.1's in CPM-3V, with Bark River's full convex grinding. Here is a photo of the first two samples, along side a production GSO-5.1. They aren't as brutish in design as my production model, with more focus placed of sheer cutting efficiency, that Bark River is so well known for. All of these will have epoxied and corby'd handles, with a matte handle finish. Only about 30 will ever exist, with only about 20-25 going to the open market.

I'd like to get one of these, how do we sign up? If you have a list, please put me on it!

Hey Guy, I know you're busy with all your other designs productions, specials and preorders right now, just curious what your estimated date is for the gso-7 preorder or production?

Hey Brother, sorry but I missed your posting. I am hoping to kick off production of a follow up run of the GSO-5.1, with some small tweaks ;) and a debut run of the GSO-7/7 by mid to late January.

The GSO-5.1 is more of a general utility/field knife design that could also effectively serve as a combat knife. The GSO-7/7, with a bit longer blade, slightly larger choil and more aggressive point, is still utility oriented but a little more "intent", making it an even better choice to fill a combat knife role. That being said, don't get me wrong, the heart and soul of all my designs is still all around utility.

Working on uploading photos now...

Bumping this thread.
I've just posted my first YouTube video, and I've seen some others are already out there. For those interested in seeing Guy's business grow, let's give him all the advertising we can!

Another video. More to come...

Nice stuff!

Now that they have several larger sizes, I'd love to see a smaller EDC-style blade from them. Something in the 3" blade length.

We can dream anyway...

That might happen. I know there was talk of a folder. I'm not sure if Guy wants to go smaller than the 4 inch edc4/GSO 4.1 right now though, I've only heard mention of bigger stuff.

Yep, the GSO-5.1 preorder will kick off this Friday. The preorder for the GSO-7/7 will kick off next Friday. The preorder for the GSO-5(no finger choil) will kick off the friday after and the preorder for the GSO-6(no finger choil) will kick off the Friday after that. I'll give it a two week break after that and then I'll be kicking off the GSO-3.5 small wilderness knife preorder. ;) Also, I have a slick little neck knife I want to work in there. I was just going to make it as a surprise BUT I did promise to offer a preorder discount on every new model. It is a new model, so what the hell. I'll have images of all those posted by the weekend.

After all of that is rolling, I'll button up the final details and will be unveiling the first SURVIVE! folder. Bohler M-390 blade, robust Ti liners and milled canvas micarta overlay. It is going to be a pretty slick little bit of machining work.

The GSO-5.1 pre-order is rolling out.

Shooting this request out there again - comparison pictures, GSO-5.1 (previous run) and other knives of similar size, especially a RatManDu. Anybody?
