It does cut giant Reese's very well! image.jpg
I imagine cutting trees down and butchering large animals is where it shines!

For those interested, I made up a prototype of the Necker and made some comparisons to an Izula. I'm not sure how well it will work given the lack of a handle to gain leverage over the blade. That little tail isn't much, pressure against the blade pushes it forward quite a distance before it braces against the fingers. Perhaps Guy will re-think the design once he gets a functional prototype in hand...

LOL! Oh my God man, you're killing me with the fully logo'd cutout! I do have some larger neck knife designs in the works but this particular design is intended to be a bare bones, minimalist piece. Really light in weight and as compact as possible. Some call them tin knives. While it can be used bare, ideally this design is intended to be used with a lanyard to obtain a full grip. Unlike a fixed handle, the lanyard adds no real extra weight and can be folded out of the way, to minimize the amount of space it takes up in your kit.

Here are some photos:

Very much looking forward to that necker!! I thought about getting a Brous Brothers V1 Silent soldier of similar design, wondered which would handle better (image pulled from the net):

My orange G10 GSO 4.1 arrived yesterday. After having both the G10 and Canvas Micarta I can say the Canvas Micarta is a bit grippier, but the orange G10 is really nice. Both feel great in the hand but I prefer the G10 because it does not absorb things as easily as the Canvas Micarta. However, both are great handles that are well made and fit the hand well.

Don't you just love how Guy lines up the screw heads on the handles. Classy attention to detail!

TvHaugen, that's a great looking knife and I like that 4.1 but I NEED a 10 bad after seeing the pics here.

I had a 5.1 in the shop and made a couple sheaths for it, so I've got some Survive Knives Kydex porn:

I really like the whole package with this setup:

I like my Survive Knives GSO 4.1 M390 a lot. It is not as impeccable and refined as say my Bark River Bravo 1 (ie machine marks on spine, scales are not %100 flush with spine & screws) but it does not need to be I like the rugged, utilitarian feel of this knife.

GSO 4.1 really is a great knife!
I will probably order another knife from Guy!
Maybe a 5.1!

Agreed
I find it to be excellent, I particularly like that there are aspects of/in it's design that are purposely the way they are.

I'm puzzled though about a video I viewed on Y.T.
Of course everybody's experience differs with any particular knife, I never heard any neg's re:
the GSO 4.1, I wonder if he just had a dull knife?
